  • Everyone's issues with WebP are actually issues with anything around WebP

I used to hate WebP but then installed qt5 image formats something or other and i can now view WebP same as any other standad image type.

  • Although i think it's great that secondhand places are concerned about the condition of items, i feel like it's gotten a bit ridiculous.

I've gotten brand new things straight from the manufacturer that were in poorer conditon than some of the things they've turned down. And I'm not really comfortable using craigslist or facebook marketplace or the like so i end up feelling bad about tossing perfectly fine stuff.

  • I think this is a great way to promote greener living.

Facilitating an effective relative boost in convenience can have a massive impact while still maintaining freedom of choice.

It's like putting your running shoes by the door and the TV remote/your phone in a container.

By making the better choice more convenient, even if the worse choice brings more pleasure, you greatly increase the ease of engagement with the better choice while still maintaining the worse choice if you really need it/have set aside an amount to engage in.

  • This is a big part of the issue.

The truth is that most artists would still make their art if they didn't make money off of it provided that they are ensured basic necessities and enough time.

The whole idea of AI art would be much easier to brush away as a non-issue for many artists if it didn't immediately pose the question of "how is this going to affect my ability to live?"
