Lukewarm take: mods had valid grievances, but were dumb as fuck to unilaterally make a major decision without even consulting the community beforehand, which is definitely worse imo.
It reminds me of so many subreddits where overactive mods decide they know what’s best for their subreddit and impose rules that would never pass a basic yes/no poll, demonstrating they don’t actually care about the community. Mods are supposed to be janitors (not an insult, just statement of fact), but too often act with the presumed arrogance of “leaders”.
Edit to add: this is what the mods should have done:
Make a stickied thread with examples of users being banned or comments being removed unjustly
Ask users if the above justifies moving to a new host, and if so ask which one
“Wei Wu” has an avatar that looks like it was AI generated, not to mention they’re verified on twitter and they talk exactly like a western person doing a Chinese caricature. Seems fake too me.
The difference between the left and the right is that many Republican voters will vote for a candidate based on a single issue, while many Democrat voters will not vote for a candidate based on a single issue.
I’m genuinely not sure if there is a set of policies the left can offer which will adequately appeal to their entire base. I think the best case is another 2008 Obama who didn’t actually campaign on much hard policy other than just idealistic “hope”, which meant that a lot of voters could see what they wanted in him.
Meanwhile Republicans will continue to destroy the country while throwing out scraps like marginally lower taxes (but much lower for the rich).
Everyone loves to bag on boomers, but they’re actually more left leaning than they’re given credit for (more so now after Covid killed a lot of antivax seniors). Gen X is the MAGA stronghold.
Well he definitely said that in 2020, and if someone had had the foresight to ask him in 2016 he probably would have said it then as well, so I’m going to go ahead and be a little skeptical here.
Sounds good. Btw can you name a single Republican who supports Palestine? I can only seem to find Democrats. Just want to know when you help the Republicans win :)
This guy only posts articles calling out democrats, and does not mention republicans at all. So it’s definitely not implied that he supports one over the other. Especially when this specific line is the most popular wedge issue for conservative-aligned interests, despite once again democrats being substantially more progressive on this issue.
And whataboutism? The GOP is one of two parties in a two party system, with the other being democrats. So yes it’s natural that if you mention one party’s stance you would then also mention the other.
Just curious why your entire account is countless articles criticizing democrats for their Palestine stance while applying absolutely no scrutiny to republicans, despite republicans being infinitely more hardline pro-Israel?
