  • No, you would straight up banned

  • Indeed, but this is more about admins banning users from the entire instance because they don't share the same political views.

  • Lemmy.zip name is really unfortunate

  • Might be worth to check with the team if they would mind moving to another instance.

I guess they didn't really check which instance their community was hosted on

  • To be honest the issue is more about the power tripping than politics. Banning someone from the Arch Linux community because they disagree with you seems strange

  • Hello,

Lemmy.ml and Lemmy.cafe are like Gmail and Outlook, different services that can still send email to each other in a normal configuration.

Except here Lemmy.cafe decided to block Lemmy.ml. Using Lemmy.cafe you can still interact with for instance lemmy.world communities and users for instance

  • LW communities are already much more active than lemmy.ml ones, there are just a few missing, I wouldn't worry too much.

  • I’m just uncomfortable with the way that people are so eager to foster that in world. We shouldn’t have to see them misbehave before we apply what we learned from previous mistakes.

You're preaching to the choir, but "for now" it's acceptable to me.

We are always able to move communities to other instances should they misbehave, and that's good enough to me.

Could be improved, of course, but not critical.
