  • Because you aren't browsing videos on youtube's Trending page on the daily? MrBeast started as a gamerbros do things channel and got popular, then started becoming a cursed gameshow host (but the youtube version). He's an antivillain, through and through. I've known that from the start. However, until allegations show something that's not just edgy teenager groupchat dirt, I won't judge further.

Is he a good guy? No. Is he the scum of society? Not yet.

  • Turns out vehicle simulations are hard. You either have games that play like a cabinet arcade or require a "simmer" setup (control cockpit) to really be good at.

And then there's the work that goes into the level of detail. Example, Forza Horizon 5 doesn't even have the underside of most cars modelled, to save on polys and performance, but there's still a lot of little details that have to be modelled, textured, and sound recorded. This is even more important when a driving game goes into VR, because you will notice when something in the interior is missing or offmodel.

Also shoutout to Live For Speed, the active-since-Windows-XP open beta / early access mediumcore simulation that's had VR support for a long while, and a release date that will probably coincide with Half Life 3.

  • There's another post above that explains why. Basically it's a monopoly on anime streaming, and they've done a popular voice actor dirty by intercepting his mail, which opening someone else's mail without permission is a federal crime, especially since they legit stole what was in the packages.

Then there's the whole thing where Sony merged Crunchyroll and FUNimation and other services, eliminating the "buy once forever" digital streaming licenses on the other services.

"If buying isn't owning..." and so on.

  • 99 percent of the time I've had to deal with a bsod in Windows, it was a bad driver (Intel controllerless Wi-Fi, for one) or a software issue (Malwarebytes Premium or Kaspersky + insert networking app here). Sometimes it's a hardware problem (stupid ASUS laptops with builtin RAM), and rarely, a bad disk clone (gotta do that bcdboot)

  • If you're running it thru the FUSE driver perhaps...proprietary ntfs drivers absolutely rip

Also make sure last access time is turned off, that is a nice auditing feature for opsec, but it slows things down for the normal user. It should be off by default above 256GB drive sizes.

  • 1500 miles a year... I do that in two weeks.

I absolutely would drive an ev if I could afford it, but I have a few years to go before my current car is worth a trade... and where I live I have no ability to charge at home, which is the one thing that would save me a lot of money.
