  • I think it's mostly because it's a SIM only thing and anyone can send off for one.

  • Unfortunately I think the age of computer literacy came and went. Phones don't even seem to want you to know that a file is a thing.

  • Yeah, discoverability is a massive issue on the Play store. If it doesn't bring Daddy Google 30% of whatever they shovel through in ad money or mtx, then you won't see it.

  • I don't know if they still do it, but some mobile internet providers in the UK would filter things out unless you sent them your ID to unblock it.

Not sure it's a great solution, but better than having to provide your ID to every random website out there.

  • Me and my sister definitely had them in the early 80s. Kids are stupid, and the alternative is you strap them in a buggy if they can't be trusted to walk.

  • They used to be quite common in the UK back in the 80s. Stops kids running into busy roads, and you can also use it to hold up an unsteady toddler.

Obviously you don't use them on like eight year olds.

You don't see them much any more.

  • It's so much effort spying on you all. Can you send it directly through our servers instead?

  • The leash was fine.

The choke chain really had an effect though.

  • Falling birthrates are not a problem for humanity.

They're a problem for capitalism which can't rely on that for nebulous "growth" figures.

But if capitalists really want a solution, then a home for two adults and two children should be affordable on one average wage, not two. Build more and make them cheaper. If you can't do that then you don't care about the problem enough.

  • The army tends to have much better discipline.

Not always, but certainly compared to American police, who don't seem to have any.

  • The entire extent of the planning is "Troops go in. Troops shoot protesters."

  • It's the ideal help for people who shouldn't be employed as programmers to start with.

I had to explain hexadecimal to somebody the other day. It's honestly depressing.

  • You're right. That library was removed in ToolName [PriorVersion]. Please try this instead.

makes up entirely new fictitious library name

  • Not being funny, but what the fuck is a homeless person going to do with a raw cauliflower?

I often see carrier bags of dry pasta, tinned tomatoes and stuff just dumped at the roadside, because the person they'd given it to has no way of doing anything with it. Apparently they're supposed to give only food they can prepare, but that clearly doesn't always happen.

Food waste is part of the system. It's fine. It's what stops a shortage from becoming a famine.

  • RTO is just posturing to share holders.

"Look, look, we're treating our staff badly, so you know we're a good investment!"

  • Well they weren't fleeing persecution at all. Most of them were born in the US, years after the Quakers had stopped being persecuted in England.

Mostly Christians, but in the same way my parents say they're Christian. A churchless general belief in god and heaven. Deists, I think the proper word is.
