  • Is this for real? April Fools' Day is not for another 2 months /s

  • I think the rule would only apply to paid games since it exists to prevent people from buying games for cheap on markets other than theirs. So I'm not sure Valve would ban users for adding a F2P game to their library with a VPN.

  • OP posted from Mastodon and for some reason mentioned the Firefox Lemmy community instead of just mentioning Mozilla's / Firefox's Mastodon account.

  • How is that article even remotely related to Technology other than Steve Ballmer being former CEO of Microsoft?

Also the article is mostly empty and was written from a single quote from Ballmer.

  • As an instance admin, I would prefer not to have users uploads videos or GIFs on Lemmy.

Why? Because Lemmy instances make a local copy of media hosted on other instances. Right now, without any cleaning, my instance has been accumulating 18GB of pictures since July. Imagine how much more that would be if videos were in the mix.

  • What do you mean by "harmful"? As far as I'm aware, kernel-based anti-cheats like Valorant's don't interact with the hardware, they only check that Windows hasn't been tempered with.

  • 1. 2. Not sure it will work, at least soon, as not all Desktop add-ons work on Android. Also I feel like some add-ons are useful on Android while not on Desktop and vice-versa. 3. I have yet to see this work most of the time on Desktop, so I don't know about Android.

Edit: formatting reset the ordered list index to 1 even though it started at 2

  • I only played a couple hours yesterday, something like 5 games.

I like the gameplay: it's relatively simple and for once my skills are not too shitty.

It seem to require quite a bit of cooperation and unfortunately, as I don't have my group of friends anymore, I ended playing with randos which led to inconsistent games: one game I had a great team, the other we were too scattered to win.

Finally, I have to play a little bit more to form an opinion, but I'm afraid that the gameplay will be a bit too repetitive for me.

  • I'm afraid that if AI ends up being just a fad, Mozilla won't be able to recover from this bet.

  • Story's good but I found the gameplay lackluster: platforming wasn't particularly exceptional and the combats felt too repetitive and absurdly hard near the end.

  • What are you using GitHub on your phone for? The mobile Web UI is good enough for most use-cases, I'm not sure how an Android client would improve the user experience.

  • Yeah, but that would be a hassle, I liked the fact that most WMR headsets used inside-out tracking

  • Support is unfortunately very limited as of writing

Position: Experimental 6DoF tracking support with external SLAM/VIO systems is upstreamed but still being worked on. Tested with RealSense D455 and Samsung Odyssey+, Reverb G2, Oculus Rift S.

Additional Notes: HMD only, no controllers. Tested: HP Reverb, HP Reverb G2, Samsung Odyssey, Lenovo Explorer, others: maybe.

  • How was it a poor product? By itself, sure, there wasn't that many VR apps sold on the Microsoft Store, but once plugged into SteamVR, it was another story. WMR offered headsets for every budgets, from the low end to the very high-end and with more flexibility than HTC's Vive and Valve's Index.

  • Great, unless someone reverse engineers WMR into SteamVR, my headset is going to be a paper weight "some time in the future"...

  • I feel you, OP: when I started college I was afraid too that I was too bad at math for programming, but it turns out you just have to be good at logic, understanding how things work, breaking down problems and finding solutions, all of which have nothing to do with math ;)
