I was paying $90 a month for cable TV (which is full of ads) and found myself spending more time watching videos on YouTube.
So I cancelled the $90 cable and paid the $12 for YouTube to get rid of its ads. Without the annoyance of ads, I started spending even more time on YouTube.
I can still sometimes find live news or clips from earlier cable programming and other stuff on YouTube, so I'm not totally cut off from what I watched on cable.
It's like you and your friends getting kicked out of a restaurant and then deciding to hang out at a shoe store instead of just finding a different restaurant...
Well, heck. It is like Apollo in that regard. I can add all the dumb meme communities to favorites and not have them clog up my timeline. I guess I'll be using Voyager more.
Memmy was almost there with its Favorites support, but they require subscriptions to function (which is how the official Reddit app also works).
Is it possible to not have the blinding white flash of white on open?
In a dark room with dark mode on and my brightness turned down, the all-white splash of Voyager is quite disturbing.
