I also use Nord. I think it's fine, but self-hosted and open would be better (since you for SURE know what data is passing through and what is happening with it). With Nord it's like a "trust me bro" black box.

That said, I trust Nord enough for my needs. I don't do anything too secretive on the VPN and frankly I think the 80/20 is in favor of just using Nord over self-hosting (I don't really have time for that).

Only reason I don't use Ecosia is because you can't search for "Within the past year". Which is really necessary when you're a programmer

This is cool, but there appears to be no issues tab in GitHub which is a bit of a red flag.

Discord nickname that originated from OneShot (the game my icon is from). I chose it like 4 or 5 years ago and it stuck on Discord so I just adopted it to here

My one big gripe with Mastadon is that images take absolutely forever to load if they have even a marginal amount of pixels. I scroll art often and I'm left waiting for greater than a minute for these things to load (and I'm on a very, very fast connection).

It's both intentional and a result of how long it took.

Depending on where you live in the US, it can take years to be seen.

There's definitely a lot of people actively defending Trump though, which is also a large reason behind the lag in justice.

I learned Gimp alongside Photoshop 10 years ago and it's my preferred image editor. It does have some silliness sometimes, but overall I adore it.

One of the best things they ever did was making it one-window by default.

In the US, public transit is almost universally unavailable. If it is available, it's a massive luxury (or strictly necessary, like NYC).
