My mom used to make me add a can of mixed vegetables to my instant ramen until we agreed that I could eat them separately. So I would quickly force down the bland, mushy veggies then enjoy my ramen in its pure form.
For many of us, every day is Amazon blackout day. It really isn't that much of an inconvenience to shop elsewhere. You can do it too! I believe in you!
Yeah, I totally agree with you. Like I said, I have issues with her and I don't want her back. But she's also the only example of a leading Democrat in recent memory who's exercised power to stand up to Trump in any meaningful way. She impeached him twice and withheld a SotU address until he relented in a government shutdown. My point is, why are the other Dems so fucking spineless at a time we need action the more than ever?
I have many issues with Pelosi but she seems to have been the only Democrat with any major influence over the party in recent memory who was willing to use the checks at her disposal against blatant corruption. The rest of the Democratic party leadership are proving to be utterly useless and incompetent.
I just don't understand how you could treat another human like this. There are certainly humans I despise but I would never wish it upon another living being, let alone a human to be tortured and/or sexually mistreated. It makes me sick.
Because the stock market isn't a measure of how well a country is operating. On the contrary, deregulation allows companies to boost profit via harmful means. Rich people got it good under Trump/Republicans and therefore the stock market thrives until disaster strikes and it all comes crashing down.
Kudos for supporting trans people and you should absolutely get rid of Amazon who's responsible for union busting and dangerous labor practices that have resulted in the death of their employees.
Same but when the time came for a new car a couple years back and despite preferring a sedan, my partner and I decided to go with another manufacturer. At the time, Musk was still a POS but it was more because Tesla's QA was questionable. Now that Musk is a full blown Nazi it gives me an excuse to swear off any company he profits from.
How do you differentiate between the countless anonymous users who know for certain one way or another? And why would you trust their opinion over that of your vet?
Ah yes, as we all know every Lemmy user is also a moonlighting cat nutritionist. Glad you came and asked here, your vet probably doesn't know what they're talking about!
I'm a senior software dev that uses AI to help me with my job daily. There are endless tools in the software world all with their own instructions on how to use them. Often they have issues and the solutions aren't included in those instructions. It used to be that I had to go hunt down any references to the problem I was having though online forums in the hopes that somebody else figured out how to solve the issue but now I can ask AI and it generally gives me the answer I'm looking for.
If I had AI when I was still learning core engineering concepts I think shortcutting the learning process could be detrimental but now I just need to know how to get X done specifically with Y this one time and probably never again.
Uh yeah? Last summer the highest court in the land essentially ruled that he doesn't have to so long as he's the president. Only Congress has the authority to stop him now through impeachment and conviction.
Objects like an unbreakable stick are still composed of atoms suspended in space and held together by the fundamental forces of nature. When you push on one end, the other end doesn't immediately move with it but rather the object experiences a wave of compression traveling through it. This wave of compression travels faster than we can perceive but still cannot travel faster than light.
Look up why arrows bend after they've been released by a bow, it's essentially the same mechanic.
It took an unreasonable amount of time for me to understand what the message was saying
