Automation tool does automation.

It refuses more from what I've seen. Personally I don't think it's a good idea to become dependant on any commercially hosted model. Open models are a bit behind but they're getting there.

The issue is the complete lack of transparency and the tone taken in the announcement. They made vague accusations then contradicted themselves less than 24 hours later. Now even their new temporary CEO is threatening to resign if they can't provide a legitimate reason for the firing.

I agree that they've gone too commercial too fast, but I can't believe that that was the true reason behind the board's actions given the rest of their behavior.

Smaller communities aren't necessarily a bad thing. Compared to reddit I rarely feel like I'm commenting into the void.

As far as we know Microsoft has access to some of their IP but not much else. Judging by the output of their own research division they're anxious to replace them.

This type of stuff is pretty cool even if we're still far away from understanding how the brain actually works. I'm not a fan of the clickbate surrounding it though.

In the case of Machine learning the term has sort of been morphed to mean "open weights" as well as open inference/training code. To me the OSI is just being elitist and gate keeping the term.

There's no reason to replace USB A on most desktops since it would break 20+ years of backwards compatibility without any real benefit. Maybe 1 or 2 would be useful.

According to Brockman's timeline nobody outside of the board knew, including Microsoft. The coup was organized by Ilya, one of the original founders.

Microsoft doesn't have that power, and it has hurt their stock value. Their CEO's response suggests that Microsoft and other partners didn't know until everyone else did.

Everyone with that IP would be banned, but it's pretty uncommon these days. I assume known cgnat addresses are also probably whitelisted by protection services like cloudflare to prevent random people from ruining it for everyone.

That isn't neccesarily true, though for now there's no way to tell since they've yet to release their code. If the timeline is anything like their last paper it will be out around a month after publication, which will be Nov 20th.

There have been similar papers for confusing image classification models, not sure how successful they've been IRL.

If you're using x11 and have another 60hz monitor it may be an issue with vsync. Wayland shouldn't have this issue.

Personally I don't notice 75 vs 144 unless I'm playing a first person game with a lot of quick movement.
