  • Ok. But should you never put citrus in your garbage disposal because it summons the pipe demon, or are you supposed to put citrus in your garbage disposal because it repels the pipe demon?

  • Genuinely wouldn't be surprised if someone did try to use it, but also don't see why anyone would think a little red tag would prevent such a person from trying anyway.

  • Because the first digit in each of the numbers is larger than the second digit it would be the triple inverted pyramid as shown, where the larger numbers correspond to larger sub-pyramids and larger digits correspond to the larger side of the sub-pyramid.

The colored text and marks on the pyramids are to show that.

  • I mean... Western cultures? That's why so many Western measuring systems are in base 12 and why we have special words for dozen and gross.

Base 10 being ubiquitous is fairly new and it replaced bases like 12 and 16 that were easier for people to track mentally.

EDIT: And that's not to say non-Western cultures didn't use 12 or 16. They're super common all over.

  • Yeah but this is unironically unacceptable.

There was a time when I could not type faster than my computer could respond. The steady "upgrades" of software have made computers consistently worse, outpacing any hardware improvements by far.

  • Short version: the Nazis lost but the fascists won.

WWII basically ended in fascists vs fascists - Nazi Germany pulled a lot of their ideas from the US and before Pearl Harbor the US stance was ambivalent. They thought Hitler had some good points, but it would be OK if he lost.

  • I've heard it that the first 11 don't complain.

If you're the majority you don't have to leave; you can refuse them a seat.

I recall Nazis were only about a third of the Reichstag when Hitler enacted emergency powers, and maybe that in the population.

Republicans I think are between a quarter to a third of the US population - and the more famously crazy ones not even that.
