  • I always go for the exaggerated thumbs up, especially when someone cuts me off or tailgates me. Really throws them off.

  • Ah, the classic loving counterweight paw.

Also known as the “we’re cuddling, but separately, so please stay away…but only this far away” move.

  • Sorry Catholics, but every time I see the depiction of a person tortured, bloodied, and nailed to a piece of wood, my automatic gut reaction is revulsion and disgust. First at the imagery itself, and then more deeply at the fact that otherwise sane people feel like this a completely normal thing to adorn their houses and bodies with. This is no different, people are just not accustomed to seeing Satanic imagery and symbolism in public, which is the whole fucking point.

  • Everyone needs to stop thinking Trump is some master of satire, or that he is gasp unprecedented. Yeah, we fucking know, pay attention! He’s been beyond the pale and indistinguishable from a sketch comedy dropout for decades now. These “legal experts” need to either learn a goddamn lesson for once, or just shut the fuck up about him, you’re not helping by being too unimaginative to recognize reality.

  • I'm very glad to see practical research like this being done. I'm sure it's not popular with the Evilcorps of the world, but at least people are thinking about real solutions.

The question of how much production is necessary to end poverty cannot be answered by assessing PPP-based incomes or aggregate GDP. It is necessary to assess what is being produced, and whether people have access to necessary goods and services. Development strategy should focus on ensuring the efficient production of and universal access to the specific goods that people require to achieve decent lives and good social outcomes, including nutritious food, safe housing, healthcare, education, sanitation, transit, information technology, and household durables. This can be done while also reducing less-necessary forms of production, particularly in high-income countries, in order to bring resource use back to sustainable levels.

So basically, money is not the whole answer, but providing everyone with the fundamental/essential things they need to live decent lives will get them most of the way there. Seems pretty straightforward and doable to me, if a few powerful people are forced to part with their insatiable greed.

(PPP = purchasing power parity, for those like me who didn't know.)

  • Yeah, they smoothed things out, improved the graphics, and squashed a lot of bugs. I think Legendary is probably the best way to play them, especially the first, which had the most fixed.

Here’s a breakdown of the differences and improvements.

  • You’re in for a treat! The Legendary edition was a great release, and the perfect excuse for me to replay the whole trilogy a couple years back for like, the fourth time. So good.

  • I’m glad he did this, but if you’re against the death penalty, then there is no reason for there to be any exceptions. Leaving those three men on death row is the epitome of hypocrisy.

It’s also not well known that there are currently four men on a different death row for the US military.

  • Unless it has some kind of extra coating on it, you should be fine. To be honest though, I’d just dump the contents directly into your air fryer. Aside from slightly easier cleanup there’s no reason to risk any extra chemicals leeching into your food.

  • “You’ll win when I say so.”

  • She’s too busy trying to set up a hotline to wipe the asses of the only constituents she gives a shit about, CEOs.

  • Towards the front of my dresser drawers, or on a reversed hanger in the closet, depending on the type of clothes.

  • I saw this out of the corner of my eye and thought the headline was about getting a Human Labeled for Meat.

  • It’s okay to let people be angry about things that should enrage everyone with a pulse. Their sentiment is 100% accurate even if their words aren’t perfectly precise.

  • This was a surprisingly awesome game. The Sabacc mini-game alone is worth the price of admission.

  • Yeah the Capitol and the Mall are on Federal land, but there are always exceptions to shutdowns, so they’d find a way to get the permits in time. Republicans will be in power regardless, so there’s no way they’ll let a shutdown impact Trump’s inauguration.

  • Just look at most of the winners of Game of the Year. I’d argue most of them fit in the category of narrative driven story-rich games.

  • If they actually believe something so patently ridiculous, then it’s probably best that they cancelled it. So I guess this is good news. Those are the only kinds of games I want to play. FFS.

  • Well, Congress certifies the presidential election, and inaugurations are organized by a non-governmental committee appointed by the president-elect.

If the government shuts down, you can be damn sure they’ll still certify Trump’s victory, and the inauguration will go forward regardless, though it may be a bit rougher and less safe than usual. A shutdown wont help us the way you’re hoping.

Edit: here’s some info on how inaugurations are funded and organized.
