What are your thoughts on suburban chicken ownership? I'm wholly uninterested, I need another creature to keep alive like I need another hole in the head, but my wife and daughter are really into the idea.
I'm actually in the process of trying to relocate my /home directory (to a folder in a separate partition, not a separate disk) for my Bazzite desktop installation, so if anyone with tips happens to see this please say so!
I'm in this boat with my kiddo, and like you I intend to give serious and honest answers for any questions (although occasionally I do say "I don't think you're quite ready for that topic yet", or I'll keep the details light and inform her of why).
It's been working out great, similar age to yours. She trusts me to give her real info no matter the topic (this is invaluable), she accepts when I tell her that she's probably not quite ready for XYZ, and the auxiliary benefit is that I'm forcing myself to get a bit more efficient even when I'm in --verbose mode.
ETA: we're also careful to tell her that we expect her to make her own opinions about everything and not just accept ours. That includes things like religious beliefs and politics when she decides to engage with those topics.
That's pretty crazy, good to know. We had a hard time hiring a "cloud engineer" last year ourselves, though for the client in question we were looking for deep Azure chops. I've been learning some Terraform for this reason so we can respond a bit better, sounds like I might be well served to focus on it. Feel like DM'ing with salaries / offers you've been hearing about, if you have?
Hmm really? Would proficiency with Terraform and knowledge of the services offered by at least one major cloud provider be considered "cloud server orchestration skills" or do you mean something more/different?
I've gotten to spend some time where my major responsibility was to refactor and improve "research-grade" code from some scientists. Felt like tending a Zen rock garden, but code lol, I found it really relaxing and lovely.
I don't mean a literal work output "quota", that's what I meant with layers of abstraction. A better question to ask yourself is how many Americans live paycheck to paycheck? The expensive nature of the modern world, the difficulty in being paid well enough to achieve not just stability but some personal forward progress - getting the resources for these is what I mean about needing to hit a "quota".
What proportion of Americans are unable to hit the quota, described this way? What are the consequences, both to them and to wider society? Pretty bad situation, reminds me of just more complicated/obfuscated, "fuzzier" feudalism.
Dead Prez been radical and vocal about social and political issues since long before everyone else got there. Music is probably dated by now but their messages have always been consistent and they are very applicable today.
Ah but even coming from a native speaker, it just flows so smoothly and feels just like saying what is arguably now the most common greeting said in English. To me it's like the word "app" is hiding itself right in the most natural greeting, the greeting also being a symbolic distillation of the app's purpose - there's an elegant, simple symmetry to it in my ears, the opposite of buzzword cringe!
But hey, opinions and assholes eh? Taste is so subjective lol. Just glad they didn't name it iWhatsApp, then we'd agree and be big mad
I'm just thankful it's fritted, can you imagine?
