  • Generative ai is just an advanced chat bot, a toy that uses too much power to be efficient.

My personal experience is that any output has to be double checked and edited. It would be better to just do whatever I asked it to do from the beginning. When it can fact check itself and cite sources, then it might become useful.

An ai that can comb through vast amounts of data and give an output of specific data relevant to the question presented than a generative ai might be useful. But it can’t analyze data very well at the current moment. It hallucinates too much.

  • Because the president should have no say in naming geographic locations that have long agreed upon names. And it’s a waste of money to have to replace all the maps and books with updated names.

There’s also no reason for Google to change anything. The US government has no power to make Google use this new name instead of the widely agreed upon name.

It’s a nod to the fact that if Trump says jump google will say “how high?” And no one with any sense likes that bigot.

  • American pride won’t admit defeat, you’re right. However, most Americans are blind to brown nosing. Like Trump, if you just make them feel good emotionally, you can make them do whatever you want. (See the lifting of the tik tok ban)

Just call us good little boys and girls and tell us Jesus would want us to share, and you’ll have a communist America overnight.

  • They may not have called it that but look into the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution. Both governments are bad. But the fact Chinese and us citizens are interacting face to face is a major positive.

  • It’s been the term for well over a decade. Which is when I learned about the term in college. First, second, and third world are western centric ways to talk about the alliances of Cold War countries. First world was the US, Western Europe and their allies. Second world was the communist countries, and third world was the rest of them.

  • Hate speech is not protected by the constitution and is typically a point of proof in hate crime cases. There are also civil remedies for directed hate speech in many states. Also assault is a crime that only involves words.

We allow generalized hate speech because we believe that the appropriate counter to speech is speech.

“If there be time to expose through discussion, the falsehoods and fallacies, to avert the evil by the processes of education, the remedy to be applied is more speech, not enforced silence.” - Justice Louis D. Brandeis
