Child porn. There's an official statement from the folks running lemmy.world explaining it. I really wish I was joking, but there were a couple of suuuuuuuper inappropriate posts, even for shit posting standards. I came across one and reported it. It was a porn gif and at the end, there was a text card saying the person in the gif is a child. Fucking pedos ruining shit for everyone else, they should make like a leaf and hang from a tree

Same, there was some uncensored NSFW post that had a text portion at the end mentioning the age of the person in the clip. Reported that shit immediately

That's not even the best part. For most of those transfer services, you have fuck all for protection. From the bank's perspective, you authorized transfers between your account and whatever service. The transfer from your bank to the third party middle man is mostly indisputable. Those third parties provide shit protection for consumers since they're not held to any of the dispute related regulations like Regulation E. Accidentally send the wrong person a transfer through zelle? Get scammed buying a puppy on Cash app? Ripped off on an eBay sale through PayPal? Get fucked, that's your problem.

I appreciate the info, thank you! I joined up on lemmy.world mostly because it was the first one I had seen and seemed to be pretty populate, I didn't realize all the behind the scenes stuff. Does defederation work both ways? By that I mean, if beehaw were to block lemmy.world, does that mean lemmy.world automatically blocks beehaw back?

I'll be honest with you, I don't really know what this is regarding. I'm new to the fediverse and just saw an opportunity for a joke. It seems the easy fix though would be to create an account through an instance that isn't as reactively restrictive

I'll level with you. This is from one of the Indiana Jones movies. The main character, Indiana Jones (left) is a college professor/archeologist. The Nazi (right), as in life, are the bad guys and is getting punched by the good guy. The joke is that the Nazi is being referred to as a trump supporter, which isn't entirely inaccurate, however it is a stereotype nonetheless. Not all trump supporters are Nazis and not all Nazis support trump, however if it were a ven diagram, it would look like one circle since the outliers are very few and far between. Hope this helps
