I recommend looking at a Shawn Wildermuth course that seems related to the type of project you will be creating. He has a bunch on pluralsight and his website. He was instrumental for me in my early days of learning .net and architecture.

Lol I love the term distributed monolith. It seems paradoxical but very much a thing I have experienced. I don't think I've ever been rejected when trying to automate something though, that seems crazy.

Fun fact: Reagon spent over $250B on a space laser program during the cold war. It failed and nothing useful was gained from it.

I randomly just decided to play and beat the first one a couple months ago for the first time. This is awesome timing!

This was an issue I had with DOS2 as well. It was at the point I literally wrote stuff down in a notebook so that I could keep track of the side quests and what the last step was. Eventually they did overhaul the journal in that game to be a lot more useful though.

I always had a conspiracy theory that the game was supposed to have a campaign. Man I loved this game. Always had a strong but small community.

The SAS war crimes rabbithole is really depressing. It's almost an open secret at this point.

Same, none of my gun owning friends have theirs in a safe. They'll just have it sitting out in some room and then be like "well there shouldn't be any kids or irresponsible people in this room so it will be fine"
