Don’t forget, they did that bad thing in response to decades of bad being done to them. Just this year before the attack, more than 1 Palestinian per day was killed by Israel.

Hamas is the only thing protecting Palestinians from fucking full invasion and settlement at this point dude. Israel has admitted their intention is to push everyone out of the country and settle the land for themselves. On national tv, from high level Israeli officials.

Trade hostages for hostages to secure the safety of the hostages, as Hamas tried to do day one, two, and three. Not bomb hospitals, ever, for any reason. Not bomb refugee camps.

Of course, if they stopped the illegal occupation and settlement, and stopped murdering Palestinians every single day, stopped imprisoning them, and stopped making them live under different rules than the settlers have, it’s very unlikely they would have ever been attacked in the first place. Hamas admits this attack was an act of desperation against the completion of the Israeli settlement and cultural genocide project. It didn’t happen in a vacuum. It was the direct result of the oppression Israel forces upon the people of Palestine.

The average person doesn’t have retirement savings dude, that’s the whole problem. 80% of the country lives paycheck to paycheck.

So it has nothing to do with the thousands of Palestinians held as political prisoners, the hundreds that Israel had murdered just this year prior to October 7th, or the well-documented and internationally condemned acceleration of illegal settlement creation and expansion? They just hate Israel’s freedom? Is that it?

Play store revenue, while sizable, is less than a quarter of the revenue collected by their advertising business. As I said, much of the data requisite for that advertisement business’ revenue is collected from the 1 billion android devices with Google services installed. You’re saying, Google would give up the data of 1 billion people, which feeds its most profitable division, because of losing the ability to earn less than a quarter of what the advertising portion of their business brings in?

I guess it’s an irrelevant point anyway, we don’t live in that world, but that’s an interesting perspective, and I don’t think I share it. I think Google could stop charging entirely for all Google play services and they would still develop android because it brings them hundreds of billions of dollars a year. I don’t think they will, mind you, so it’s again, an irrelevant point, but my point is, as I said above, Google Play revenues do not support the development of android, that development is supported by costs to manufacturers in licensing Google services, before a phone ever makes it into the hands of a consumer for them to buy apps in the Google Play store.

Android exists because it was developed by enthusiasts. It was purchased by Google, not created by them.

Anyways, if we look at googles revenue streams, it’s clear that advertising is significantly more valuable to them than Play store, and they get much of their valuable data through the android platform. Personally, I’d argue it’s far more logical that androids continued development serves their advertising business than it is to say that android is an avenue to Google Play revenues.

Wtf are you talking about? What I said, is that the licensing fees google charges for use of their products already covers the costs of development they put into android. They don’t use Google play store revenues to cover costs, because those costs are already covered before anyone makes a purchase from the Google Play store,

And… licensing Android/Google Play services pays for that development, not the store revenue.

In most cases you can, usually it’s a bit more convoluted, like inserting your disk then upgrading through the in-game pop up, or through the dlc menu while the disk is installed.

The point is, the US has no assets on the ground, and cannot confirm or deny any intelligence from the region with any meaningful measure of certainty. They’re entirely going off of the statements of the IDF and Israeli government. Organizations which, have been shown to multiple times just in this conflict, spread false information as justification for their actions. Conversely, we do have plenty of journalists on the ground, who often contradict these intelligence briefings, and who often provide primary source documents or visual evidence of their claims.

No, what he shared cannot do most of that. It can play game boy cartridges though.

Just because they’re both FPGA based products does not mean they’re equivalent. The Pocket can use its FPGAs to replicate dozens of different consoles and arcade units. It also has sleep mode and save states when using original cartridges.

Without adapters or OpenFPGA, the pocket can play GB, GBC, GBA original carts. With adapters, you can add in Neo Geo and Game Gear carts, and with open FPGA, you can add in NES, SNES, Genesis, Master System, dozens of arcade units, and dozens more I’m just forgetting. I personally have DigDug, Q Bert, and all the ones I mention above on mine.

The hardware alone on the Pocket is a massive upgrade over Funnyplaying, but when you include the OpenFPGA support, they’re not even in the same league. Not to trash the funny playing one, I think it’s great. It’s just not the same product category even imo.
