  • Boxing is awesome and so hardcore! I do traditional chinese martial arts, and I have no illusions about being able to take on even a moderately skilled boxer. Even just the training is more hardcore than anything I’ve done!

  • Bonsai is a really neat one I’ve always been fascinated by. I have trouble keeping an air plant alive though, so I figure I’ve got some work to do on my green thumb before I dive that deep. It sounds like you’re doing a great job keeping busy!

  • He’s kinda a weird dude, honestly. He’s a big psychedelic advocate, and he wrote the book Food of the Gods in which he proposed his Stoned Ape Theory, as well as a lot of other books, but honestly I try not to take his conclusions too seriously, and just enjoy the natural poetic nature of his speeches, a lot of which are available on YouTube.

  • Let us return to the above quote, specifically the section that refers to your incredible privilege and social insulation. Go tell my friend in Ghana that he lives in one of the most prosperous times in history, and he’ll ask you prosperous for whom? Not him, surely. The multinational corporations that rape his country for raw materials and abuse his countrymen? Yes, definitely a prosperous time for them.

Prosperity isn’t just equally distributed around the world, or even within one country. The US has sections in worse condition than many undeveloped nations, and millions of residents without access to adequate nutrition or long term housing prospects. The prosperity of the few relies upon the suffering of the many in our system. Many of my own luxuries are themselves dependent upon exploitation and suffering of other groups of people, not inherently, but regardless it is true, and a lot of effort is spent to ensure any possible alternatives that may arise are sabotaged as much as possible.

  • Maybe actually examine the material conditions of the peoples in places who have had communist revolutions. It is indisputable that the vast majority of people in such societies had such significant increases in quality of life that it far surpasses anything a capitalist society has ever done.

China literally took one of the poorest, least educated, most class-stratified societies in the world, industrialized it, educated it, and became the number 2 super power in 60 years. Chinas life expectancy just surpassed the U.S.’s. Chinas minimum wage has gone up 500% in the last decade or two. In the Same time in the US, the minimum wage has remained the exact same. China has built more high speed rail in the last twenty years than the entire rest of the world combined across all of history. They’ve built more solar and wind farms than anyone else also.

Russian life expectancies pre-revolution was 32. 32 years. After the Soviets took over, that began increasing for decades, only lowering again during the worst of WWII fighting, and immediately going back up afterwards. After the collapse of the USSR, under the western policy of Shock Therapy(the reconstitution of capitalist economics), millions of people died and life expectancy plunged by 10 years.

Look up nutrition information on Soviet citizens as released by the FBI, where they cite that Soviet citizens ate as many calories as Americans, from healthier sources. Look up what percentage of the population was in the gulag system Vs what percentage of the population is in the American prison system.

It seems to be, that capitalism is great for the people at the top, but for those of us at the bottom, socialism is infinitely better. Ration lines to a rich man means he Can’t abuse his position for special privileges. Ration lines to the poor mean having food every day instead of when you can afford it. Most of the things we’ve been told about communism, at least the ones i have heard, are from the perspective of the rich who are upset they lost their place at the head of the table and had to live as equals with those they saw as inferior.

  • Lmaoo I knew you’d take the bait.

I’m sorry for being confrontational, it’s funny but it doesn’t help anything. I hope you are safe, and never have to experience war or occupation. There’s a saying I like, “When the revolution comes, you won’t just get the wall, buddy. You’ll get four walls, a roof, clean clothes, good food, education, and quality healthcare because that’s what every human being alive deserves.” We may disagree on a lot, but in the end, my goal is the liberation of all peoples, not just people I get along with, so I genuinely wish you well and hope one day to have a better interaction.

  • Horseshoe theory is something for people who refuse to actually educate themselves on ideology. Often espoused by ignorant people who are so thoroughly de-politicized that they think they have no ideology, never noticing that that thought it itself is something only someone extremely ideologically captured would have.

  • It literally says in your own article there is no evidence of beheaded children or babies.

There were no images to suggest militants had beheaded babies -- a particularly explosive accusation that first emerged in Israel's media and initially confirmed by Israeli officials.

  • That wasn’t my claim, I said they’re spreading misinformation claiming that babies are being beheaded, and the president of the United States is amplifying that claim, on National TV to boot. Something which no one has proof of, not the Israeli government, not the American government, no one.

That is sad though, I haven’t seen the dead babies myself yet, thankfully.

  • Notice the weasel word of terrorism? So, what Hamas did was terrorism, but what Israel does on a daily basis is just what… geopolitics? I’ve yet to see a state that calls to ban Israeli nationalists from platforms for spreading complete falsehoods, like the whole beheaded babies lie that’s going around now (and being amplified by the president of the United States). That is definitively misinformation, and the use of such falsehoods to attempt to justify Israel’s response is itself an act of terrorism, using fear and intimidation to pursue political goals.

  • So, I imagine you realize that nearly all combat footage is available on TikTok. Footage of murders in the Ukraine/Russia war, videos of drones dropping grenades on people from above, videos of burning bodies in bombed out cars… videos of Israeli settlers kidnapping children from off of the streets and beating them to death… it’s all there. Why is this treated so differently from that? Aside, If showing oppressed people taking actions to liberate themselves hurts your opinion of them, you already were on the wrong side of history.

  • Look at that, speech that goes against the mainstream is being pushed out. It’s almost like there’s an incentive for states with a history of financially and materially supporting Israel’s apartheid to hide the truth and manipulate narratives in their favor…
