  • Thanks for assuming you have any idea about me.

But you are very wrong, I'm plenty old enough to know wtf a analogue clock is.

I don't like the comment because it's shallow and reinforces the dichotomy of Dem vs Gop

The notion that people are only wrong even if they are right. The idea that a bad person can't change. Even if they do an empathetic action and care about someone they are still and will only ever be wrong.

It's internet shallow, it's a meme catch phrase for the lazy.

  • Except for the payroll tax and the thousands of people it employees who also brought things.

Better Zucc waisting it on jobs than moving it to Panama and never seeing it again.

But, yes it should have been taxed regardless.

Actually you should still tax Meta. It's not too late

  • I guess the total fire ban is largely in reference to outside fires and things that cause sparks.

Cigarette butts, angle grinders, open fires, BBQs etc.

In national parks and also on private land in backyards etc.

There was a case just a couple years ago where someone was using an angle grinder fixing a lawnmower and the sparks causes his backyard to catch fire which ended up burning down hundreds or hectares and dozens of houses.

  • It's Australia in Summer. There's zero sympathy for religious use of flame. Bush Fire is deadly and if your religious candle causes a bush fire and kills people and destroys homes then the courts will hit you with everything.

There's no reason you can't wait a week until extreme fire danger has passed.

We've had too many deaths to start making excuses

  • I agree with most of your post except the the first 2 sentences.

We don't know what we don't know. You assume we already know what the healthy options are. But with 50 years of education propping up a food pyramid that was developed as a marketing tool by kellogs we don't actually know what's best for us.

We think grains & cereals are the best. These along with sugars have the highest caloric value. It makes absolute sense to eat these if food is scarce and difficult to get as they provide the best bang for buck.

But in modern society where food is easy to get grains and carbs aren't good.

So reeducating everyone using the understanding science has developed oner the last 50 yrs is hugely important. We've been feeding ourselves based on misinformation.

  • Parents should be Parenting?

If they haven't been parenting what have they been doing for the last 40 years?

And if thwy have been parenting how's that workout for us so far?

There's been no age ban on social media since the internet was founded but there's record mental health crisis on young people.

  • Typical media BS.

Found a story about a very small movement somewhere in the world than are blowing it out of proportion and saying this is actually a thing.

This is why Dems lost the election but the media thought they would win.

Fucking click bait sex sells story.

  • I had to use my parents desktop a when I flew home for a bit.

Surfing the internet is fucking stressful if you don't have adblocks. So overstimulating!!

I'm also on windows and for some reason I had to use Edge.

The Edge home screen is the VERY REASON google killed it back in the 90s. Clean clear search screen. Allows you to think what you are doing with out getting bombarded with ads and posts and ads and markets. Reminded me how terrible the search experience was back in Alta Vista and Yahoo days

  • Isn't Manifest 3 about 3rd party tracking cookies?

Everyones going ape about UBlock, but that's an unintended consequence.

I'm very happy to have 3 party cookies more limited. FB already tracks me everywhere everywhen.

(But I will be very very sad when UBlock doesn't work anymore)

  • Permanently Deleted

    Jump
  • There's platforms that do that.

I can pay a service to auto solve captcha and anything that can't be solved will be pushed to a human to solve.

Never actually used it but it was interesting learning it existed
