  • Prepare to be disappointed!

It rhymes with my first name: "Neal the banana peel."

  • Welcome to the wooorld of tomorroooow!

  • I'm mostly into educational channels:

    • CGP Grey (infrequent posting schedule, but really good when he does)
    • Minute Earth (Quick Earth science videos)
    • Minute Food (Quick food science videos)
    • Technology Connections (explains new and old technologies)
    • Kurzgesagt (general science with cartoon birds)
    • Mark Rober (over the top engineering)
    • The 8-bit Guy (retro computing and pc gaming)

Then there's "You Suck at Cooking" for silly, but good recipe videos.

"Film Joy" for deep dives into films

"Lock Picking Lawyer" to watch a guy pick any lock in a few minutes (addictive)

  • Nah. Been using ultra.cc for years and I have no issues. They torrent it then I stream Plex from them.

  • I buy vegetables from the local farm stand whenever I can. I have one around the corner from my house and they're just recently starting to get a good amount of stuff. Signed up to be a CSA member this year too.

  • I suppose, but I was referencing US Shameless.

  • Nothing wrong with having a preference, but don't exclude any kitty just because it's not the right color you may miss out on the best kitty ever.

We went to a cat shelter for a specific black and white kitten. We went home with his orange and white brother. His name is Gizmo.

  • Lip for Philip has always been interesting.

  • I've never been represented by Bill directly, but I was a client of Bill S. Preston, Theodore Logan, Spock, The Rock, Doc Ock, and Hulk Hogan. Should I be concerned?

  • I guess I missed that you're intentionally avoiding places with waiters/servers. That's what I had in mind. I've visited plenty of places that don't have a tip jar out or activate the tipping feature on the credit card machine. I don't really consider them making progress away from the wild tipping culture we currently have. They just haven't fallen into the ridiculous yet. I get what you're saying now.

Ultimately, nothing's going to change unless something changes on the state or federal level. My state tried instituting a minimum wage that included waiters, but restaurants put up such a stink that the waiter part got reversed. "We'll have to raise our prices!" Yeah no shit, but then we won't pay tip. It theoretically should wash out in the end.

  • While your plan is good in theory, how many places like this have you found? I have ran into a grand total of zero. It's hard to support businesses doing it a better way when you can't find any.

  • That reminds me of the old Hannaford (and other Food Lion brands) guiding stars logo. It's something they'd put around the store, particularly on shelf tags. The person looks to be running right and there are only three stars. Might explain why you remember it, but can't place it.

  • Mix in a Futurama reference for "Tell my WiFi said hello"

  • Sweet

  • Kif, I have made it with a woman. Inform the men.

  • Futurama + Terraria = Endgame Terraria, played by a newb, so we can laugh at their failures.
