  • Pretty sure it all started when CEO broke their cheese spoon, which seems to have lead to a bit of a drawer crisis 😂

I dunno, I don't really understand what's happening most of the time. I just go along with what the masses are doing, and I haven't been exiled yet, so it seems to be working? 🤷‍♂️

  • My melatonin is coming from South Korea this time. That's interesting. Usually it comes from California. This time it came from Incheon, SK, and they've flown it over to Perris CA, US, just to fly it to Australia. Seems like it would've been more efficient to just make it go Vroom Vroom from SK to AU

I also ordered something from JB which is coming through "Australia Post Metro Services", which I've never heard of. Looks like it's basically just express post but they deliver on Saturdays and they pick it up from the sender rather than the sender dropping it off. JB reckons it will arrive tomorrow. Auspost reckons Monday. It's currently in Somerton, after having been posted from Thomastown. Bets are now open: will it arrive tomorrow, or Monday?

E: JB has been processed at sunshine west, which can either be delightfully efficient, or a black hole. Bets on.

  • I'm jealous too. I would kill for drawers wide enough to have multiple different knives all in their own compartments alongside various little utensils without anything being on top of or obstruction (or obstructed by) anything else. I've got a bit of space at the back of my drawers not ordinarily used, but the drawers don't pull out very far, hence the unused

  • It's mostly the lack of things that makes it sad. But anyone, if you want a bonus one, this was the state of chaos(ish) at the last place. I don't have any photos of it, but one of the housemates did her best to organise it and sent a video which I stole a screenshot from

It wasn't too bad, because it was too bad when I moved in. 4 people all cooking their own things and usually waiting until the end of the day (or the next dishwasher cycle) to wash them meant we required a lot of tongs and spatulas. There's a method to the madness, but it didn't last longer than 2 days before it was chaotic again

  • It's a little sad because I still have a fair bit to load in. And I lost my bottle opener in the move

I will get dividers eventually, and I do have more spoons and other cutlery. It just didn't seem worth taking everything out of its packaging if I don't need them yet. The stains, chips, and various specs were complimentary, and aren't interested in moving out

And I still only have 1 knife. Hoping on Monday I can ask somebody to take my phone and run a knife block through the checkout

  • Crikey, I don't know what it is about today, but I'm so much sweater than yesterday. I almost turned on the air con, but the temp is finally dropping a bit now so the windows will very slowly cool it down a bit

  • Yeah. It sounds like I'm doing basically the same thing as you did with your weight loss. But I never really liked sugary drinks (with the exception of ginger beer), so I'm keeping up the occasional sugar free soft drink

You are bang on there, so it definitely sounds like you've got the right mindset. I'm not even going to cross my fingers you make it, because I know you will without it! ♥️

  • Passport photos acquired. Surprisingly painless. I love the people at the new LPO, they're so lovely and efficient!

Edit: actually I looked at my photo and it looks like I've got an ever so slightly smirk. Not too pronounced, it's certainly not a smile. But enough that if somebody was intentionally choosing to be a dick could call it non neutral. There's also a few Tufts of hair that blew into my face on the walk over. Hope they're not dicks about that either

  • Glad you're still around. I must admit, I was getting worried about you as well

I've never been in your position, so I don't want to offer useless advice. But I'm glad you're working on it as best you can. It's a hard habit to kick

Also, if I might insert my 2c: you made it 10 days. You've just proved to yourself you can do it. Sometimes it just takes a few goes. When my mum was trying to quit, the first time she made it 16 hours. The 2nd time she made it 2 days. Then 4. She "failed" every time, but AFAIK she's managed to break out now, and no longer smokes

  • Thanks Indi, very much appreciated!

Unsweetened almond milk comes in at the lowest amount of calories. Followed by unsweetened coconut milk. Skim milk and unsweetened soy milk are tied. Then "1%" cows milk, followed by unsweetened rice milk, and then full cream cows milk at most calories. Source

I dunno, I'm pretty shit at tasting anything that isn't overwhelmingly strong. I usually double garlic, ginger, and other spices in cooking so that I can at least partially taste it. That's probably the only reason I didn't find the almond overwhelming

  • I tried almond milk for the first time today. Honestly, I didn't hate is as much as I thought I would. I had it in a mocha, and I could definitely taste the nutty flavour, but I didn't find it overpowering or disgusting. Honestly, besides the fact that my mocha tasted like somebody put a bit of a 7-11 nut mix in there, I don't think I'd even notice the milk was fake or that anything was different
