Do you want to go out and pick strawberries for 12 hours a day all week? It's absolutely brutal work and why anyone who has an opportunity to do anything else takes it.

I live in a small town, so everyone at least knows who both judges in town are. 10 years ago one had a decent reputation, the other everyone hated because he was just a bully in the courtroom. He was suspended by the state for a year back in 2021 because he started harassing a woman at the back of the court room who was minding her own business, commenting about her brother who OD'ed the week before, and then held her in contempt of court for not submitting to a drug test.

Anyway, when his suspension was up he ran for his vacant seat to try and get his pension back. So I joyfully voted against that asshole and was very satisfied to see him get absolutely clobbered since everyone in town hated him.

Bumble was my last straw for dating apps a few years back. I paid for a the premium service for a few months, then i started dating a girl so i cancelled it. I even had an email notification and everything saying it was cancelled. Four months later i was still getting charged, and they had zero customer service contact info to try and dispute it. So i called up my bank and disputed the charges, forwarded on the cancellation email, and then got a full refund from the bank.

Fuck dating apps. They profit off the misery and loneliness of people and have every incentive to keep you single and miserable.

I'm not talking about Spanish workers retiring. I'm talking about English and German pensioners moving to Spain to retire. Spain and Greece have become to Florida and Arizona of Europe where they are stuck picking up the tab for people who never contributed to the local economy and are now draining it of resources. The only reason Greece meets their NATO obligations is because they are in an arms race with Turkey. It's one thing to care for your elderly parents when they start to get older. It's an entirely different matter when all of a sudden you are expected to care for some elderly couple that you have never met before.

Spain has to deal with millions of pensioners from across Europe retiring there. Germany was complaining anout the drag on it's economy when hundreds of thousands of working age Syrians came into the county during the 2010's. Spain has to spend billions of euros every year caring for residents who don't work, need extra medical care, and displace actual working people. Their economy is incredibly weak as is, they can't justify spending 3x what they currently are on their military.
