  • IMO, he has been playing the same over-grown man-child of a character in every movie for 20 years (with exceptions).

Also Happy Madison studios wrote Dana Carvey a blank check to make one of the worst movies ever made and that was the last nail in the coffin for his acting career.

  • Pope Pie-us the... [Checks wikipedia for how many others use the name] XIII...

  • Stegosaurus nuggets are better, they have more corners and crisp better.

  • That study was 3 years ago, features to create private (invite only) group chats are supported now.

  • Or Matrix (warning some assembly required)

  • I was disapponted at that, I spooled up one of those instances a few months back and its federated and is magical. If only I could convince my family to move away from that old group text grumbles in person who cosplays as a sysadmin

  • Without getting into the technical side of things.

Normal Windows home edition is to what ever firmware your ISP (Internet service provider) puts on your router to make it play nice with their network.

Open WRT is to cracks knuckles fuck it, ill configure it myself (think Arch linux, or any program/platform where the user is given a bundle of sticks and a phone book of a manual and told "try not to hurt yourself")

Its a community updated router firmware/software project that gives the user a bit too much control. This allowes people who know what they are doing to make some very secure, free, and complex networks, but also gives you the tools to piss off your ISP or break something.

  • Were a few months out for the other shoe to drop on a lot of this shit. Ships take a long time to get places, once the last ones are done with their routes, they wont be coming back. Retailers have stockpiles and wearhouses for things, but those only last so long.

I expect to really start noticing thing to be out of stock by mid-late summer and expect the 2025 holiday season to be a consumerist bloodbath (pay attention to Spirit Haloween, they grow on the corpses of other businesses and their unexpired building leases, if they dont show up, thats an indication that shits gotten real)

  • If your booked in Florida they will put your mugshot in the paper (and now they know where you are). Sunshine laws make it seem like all crime in that state is comitted by one very dedicated couple (Florida Man/Florida Woman) with access to a cartoonish amount of vehicles, drugs, and oversized agressive reptiles.

  • A non-vote is complicit by abiding the greater evil.

You get nothing, you lose. Good day sir.

  • Someone is eventually going to break kayfabe and punch him, those ovel office meeting look incredibly stressful for the guests.

  • He is the most unrealistic part of the film, he had a problem, found the most qualified person to fix it, listened to them (eventually), and then didnt take credit for it.

  • Glad I could help. Remember a personal pilosophy is subjective, your going to have to reach those conclusions on your own. But if you want to talk shop, nerds are here to help.

  • Lets break down the arguments, and throw up that content warning because were about to do a philosophy.

Damn this took all day to write and got a little rambly... Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.

  • First, great choice in reading (Im a fan of Camus as well).

As for the meaning of life thing...

Thats the neat part. You don't.

Thats why in absurdist fiction like Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy the answer to life, the universe and everything is 42. Its not supposed to make sense and the universe is under no obligation to do so for you (the books even postulate that the universe does not want anyone to know so if someone figures it out it winks out of existance and replaced itself with something weirder, some scientists think this has happened before).

That goes back to Camus point about the remedies for the bleakness of early-mid 20th century philosophy. He proposed three options, Nhilism, a leap of faith (looking at you Kierkegaard), or absurdism, the last being what the doctor perscribes, but also requires the most effort because you have to find your question to the ultimate answer your self... Or not, who cares. Lets go spend some time by a lake that thinks its a gin & tonic.

  • Added context for the non-tech crowd to explain the downvotes. Proton checks all the boxes, EU based (swiss), good platform that is working towards being a unified google services replacemnt. For most people I do still recommend them, I quite like their software.

But for the socially concious nerd, their CEO put their foot in their mouth on the artist formerly known as twitter late last year, and that damaged their user bases trust in them (no policy changed, they just stated opinions that were very out of touch with their US user base)

There is a lot of nuance to the issue, im glossing over a lot and I feel it gets blown out of proportions on Lemmy.

  • But they copied the french, they were just less elegant about it.

  • N for non-complete. He clearly didnt even show up to history class.

  • Orzo (rice shaped pasta) and peanut butter, its ultra-dense camping food, never need to make more than a small bowl.
