  • What is your favorite color?

  • You used the right tool for the job, saved you from hours of work. General AI is still a very long ways off and people expecting the current models to behave like one are foolish.

Are they useless? For writing code, no. Most other tasks yes, or worse as they will be confiently wrong about what you ask them.

  • Fear not, he locked himself in a car and ate himself to death.

  • This is the sorta randomness I wish we got more of on the internet.

  • Entirely fair question and thanks for expanding, bit personal for online nobodys like us. Sorry if I came off as accusitory.

  • Taxes alone is a valid reason. So long as there are social, financial and legal benifits to the institution then there is no argument to have. If you feel that love or religion is a requirment that I feel your concept of marraige is outdated.

  • Question that pertains to general hosting at those scales. In your opinion what costs more, distributing a piece of content that will get 1M views, or 1000 pieces of content that will get 1000 each? I know the math wont add up, but I dont know where the cost bottleneck is. Is hosting something even though it isnt used or that viral spike in views that kills attempts to make a smaller service like this?

  • 12345? Thats amazing, I have the same combination on my luggage!

  • Pi-hole does not block content that is hosted on the same source as the ads. Youtube, hulu and friends host their own ad services (dont quote me on exactly which streaming platforms this does and does not work on, uBlock should also be part of this suite of ad-blocking) so it wont spare you from those. However people using ad services like google adsense on their website will have content blocked as DNS will resolve to the place your trying to go and the webpage asyn-loading its ads will not.

  • I agree with you. I think the media is handling it all wrong, it is a business fraud case, not a "hush-momey" case. However, I can see the prosocutions strategy. Hurt his ego, and he will react poorly in the eyes of the court and jury, let him purger himself, give him enough rope and he might just hang himself (in a legal sense).

  • IMO the ban is very much a broken clock (is right twice a day) sorta situation. I would have prefered the reason being that its mentally toxic, lowering peoples attention span, and promoting misinfromation. On social media it should be a given that you are being spied on, by the private sector, public sector or both. I feel like they just got their congressional panties in a knot because it was China doing the spying instead of some US based alphabet soup agency.

  • Thats fair, I was worried about my discontinued corsiar stuff but was suprised to find that the support was even better than the old driver and managment app I had on my old OS.

  • I made the switch from W10 to Pop_OS for my gaming rig about 2 months ago. Beyond some hiccups with the experimental branch of proton and just getting used to the new UI its been great. Come on in, they water is fine.

  • 420 is still avalable. Not sure what you would put there ("Server too high?") and given the controversy over 418 I think its best to leave that one blank instead of making a weed joke.

  • No, they are 100% correct. President Comacho delegated to experts, which is something very few politicians today would do.

  • Im I wrong to think that we (the media) should stop calling it a "hush-money" case? I think its a poor move to put more focus on the moral issues of him spending a night with a porn star and paying them to keep quiet than to focus on the fact that he falsified business records to save face during a presidential campaign.

  • If its anything like the private sector its a mostly a liability thing. If something is wrong with the program, you can sue the vendor. With open source... Thats a lot harder to do. Large groups wont use the thing if you cant put the blame on someone else when it breaks.

  • If thats actually from the smithsonian in Washington DC, its probably in the recently renovated american history museum. There is a section in the lower levels all about technology and products the changed regulations. So they have an old ipod and lawn darts... Its very odd seeing that stuff be called history.

  • Yes, but some claim to be log-less so while they can see your traffic, they pinky promise not to record it. Proton being one who proports to not keep logs, and seeing as they are Swiss ,that tracks.

(Proton VPN is the 3rd party one I use)
