  • How many of yall read this entire thread and were disapointed or glad you didnt find your own name.

  • Lever on the side usually, internals for residential and commercial comodes are very different. Most arn't super water efficent, but maintenance can be done by just about anyone. (American here, Euro style toilets are just better)

  • Alpha Centauri is actually 13.6 feet from me, Ive got an old sid meyrs disk somehwere in the box of old tech stuff. Great game, used the same engine as Civ 2, think its on GOG these days.

  • Its healthier not to have them. Also there is a technical limitation in that points are logged by the instance you post on, your profile could keep a rough tally, but thats yet another cross instance data stream that would need to be synced. Seeing how most lemmy instances are pretty small or managed by hobbiests, thats fine, less for them to worry about.

Also if you post because you have something to say over wanting internet points, people will read your words differently.

  • My dude, I was 7 when he was elected, I had no concept of party politics and couldent even participate for 2 more cycles. I now know the damage he caused, but at the time it was "ha, funny texas man dodged shoes". I now know why the shoes were thrown, so unless you have time machine noone has any means of changing that.

  • Pretty much this, thought Bush jr. was at best a usefull idiot riding the coat tails of a family dynasty at a time when the US needed a Roosevelt (or any calm and competent leader) the most. In my mind, Cheney will always be the one with a special parking spot in hell next to henery kissinger.

  • We conducted a similar expiriment and found that even after being hit in the head by an ACME mallet most people and some rodents were able to still conclude that everything 45 says is complete crazy pants.

  • My head-cannon from the lawyers going something like this.

"Thank you Mr. Musk for the lawsuit, we had a lot of fun reading it. Especially the parts you drew (I liked the blue dinosauar). Before we begin, we would like to let you know the legal fees for this case are coming directly from the portion of the advertising budget we allocated to the website formerly known as Twitter"

Probably more entertaining than the actual cases.

  • I understood that and I hate you for it.

Context, they are looking for a party for a raid (Ice Crown Citadel - 10 or 25 person content) in World of Warcraft circa 2010. Gearscore was an addon to quantify/auto-inspect players to make sure you could actually do the job. Also they are playing a damage class, so there are a lot of players in that pool.

I miss those days, nostalgia is one hell of a drug.

  • Dito, fixing interesting problems is fun. My main issue is that we have had a caroucel of bosses (4 in the last 4 years) and the current one gets a C-. Half the team does not trust them due to drama with the previous manager and the they keep trying to make it so the different team members specialize in different tasks (everyone used to be trained to do everything). I like the job and the company, but its one or two step removed from "Office Space" levels of corpo whohash.

  • They appear to be starting this before the event, so something has them spooked (could just be the con full of spooks). Also with the volume of technical know-how that is going to be in attendance I think

    1. There is no way someone wont spot funny bususiness if a group or indivudal is trying to pull something.
    2. If a visual inspection is all their doing (unlikely) then this amounts to nothing more that security theatre. If they are being more invasive the attendees will know (its DEF CON for fuck sake).
    3. This may just prompt the attendees to book at another resort next year and hurt the hotel in the long run, seeing as this is very close to the opening of the con I dont see many groups changing their booking in time.
  • Still need to watch the BBC show, would yall say that is worth seeking out?

  • I think they are correct, an amendment would be the appropriate form for this change as the constitution says what ever 5 of the 9 of the justices say it does.

  • (An old sign a friend of mine had)

    No Soliciting

    • We are too poor to buy anything.
    • Yes, we know who we are voting for.
    • Yes, we have found jesus.
    • Unless you are selling Thin Mints, please go away.
  • If that case ever came to pass and a conservative majority did nothing, they would be as ethicaly compromised as the court is now and should be voted out of office. (Nice Whataboutism there eh... Pick a better argument)
