  • Honestly it's both valve's fault and the legal system. They've tried to combat these sites with the trade window system back in like 2015 2016 I think, but their csgo and tf2 trading economy struggles when you have to wait a week to do stuff.

It also doesn't help when a lot of these sites dodge being legally a casino, and get away with it.

  • I unironically use ytmusic more than spotify because finding niche artists is a lot more easier, which is basically the entirety of edm and its many subgenres.

I use revanced though because I dont like google that much

  • I think most popular apps (boost, voyager if i remember, etc.) have this feature. I dont believe lemmy has this natively.

Note that blocking instances doesn't mean you wont see comments from there. It only works on communities.

To be honest though, most of the problematic people only comment on specific posts/communities so blocking certain keywords and instances should fare pretty well.

  • 500k is absurdly low these days to be considered rich. Thats like a house in the midwest, or around half a house in cali

Unless the real estate bubble pops, which I have no faith in happening anytime soon.

  • Sounds like you have aphantasia. Wish more research was done on it, I only learned about it when I was randomly talking with my friends and one of them said they couldn't imagine an image.

I'm stuck with the ability to imagine complete scenes but not be able to draw what I imagine haha

  • The you part of youtube was definitely people making videos for the fun of it. Things like videos about a topic they're passionate about (eg. Fallout NV, weird mechanics in games, etc.), 2008-esque skits, lets plays, and all that. It still exists, but youtube was really at its peak when it was just a buncha random people living their lives and having fun.

  • California is suprisingly conservative outside of the cities. If you look at any election map, its usually red towards the farms and rural areas. It's just there's so many people in cities that it doesnt really matter on state level
