  • I take a far grimmer look on things. If text and image platforms have issues moderating, I'd imagine discord is more difficult and thus worse. They probably monitor for stuff that is detrimental to their service and that's it. For the rest they rely on reports.

And about being asked to keep up by governments, I again am inclined to not think anyone did. Why would they.

  • That's his point. The people that say they do not want to pay for other peoples children want to opt out of the social contract that underpins all of this. And if they do, they should not get the rewards side later in life.

This kind of egocentric " me me me" thinking is to the detriment of everyone. Social systems are like insurance.. if you don't need it.. it's not a waste.. you got lucky. But if you get unlucky.. if you go at it alone.. you will be up the creek without a paddle.

Too many people think that life and the world is as you make it. They refuse to believe that probably 20pct is you, the other 80 is (good/bad) luck.

  • Any idea what kind of an organization you would need to coordinate this kind of operation. Most likely the cost mentioned is the "all in" price for the whole ordeal surrounding these people.

  • This is what small government means. Not enough preparation to actually adress a foreseeable situation and then having to spend excessive amounts of public money on private enterprises.

If the state would have spent a billion on building housing for these people and another billion on affordable housing and infra.. it would have been a structural solution after year 1.. but never would have been financed by the lawmakers.

  • Probably.. but that would mean it's kinda a "you need the whole Fisker system" like they said.

  • A link to the purchase database for the options (checked when the car is turned on), the car telemetry data live uploaded, maintenance data (checked on start) to show maintenance and recall info and OTA update check, security and authorisation systems for admins of the back end. They might even have a remote call in to allow them to disable the car if it's not paid. Is it needed.. from a corporate perspective absolutely.

  • Probably the stuff requires back end connection to properly work. So just the data is useless as it has references in the database to all sorts of other systems/applications and it would require all this data to also be available.

  • It's a matter of time till we see cars bricked. Didn't I also read something about a driver being stuck while the car was updating?

  • How does a country like the US have hours long lines...

  • Flank, overthrow? Huh? Look there are bound to be some warmongers out there. But having friendly relations with your neighbors is good for everyone. And then there is the small issue of the nukes.

So maybe as a type of declawing... But cross generational plan for regime change... No.

The biggest fear (besides nuclear escalation) is probably the collapse of Russia. If that happens there is bound to be a power struggle and in the midst of that there are plenty of nukes that need to be secured.

I tend to think Russia needs a good defeat on their borders to crush any military expansionist dreams for the long term.

  • But it lightens the load on the retirement system sooo Soo much.

  • I'm more appalled by the fact that the Russian military was apparently able to use discord as a weapon of war to facilitate their unprovoked war of agression and killing Ukranians. Discord should take a long hard look at what other stuff happens on their platform.

  • But switches have all ports set to shut and open ports bound to the device connected.. or is this not common?

  • Same as banks regulated by glass steagall started fucking with the economy the moment is was repealed. The fairness doctrine for media might also be needed again.

  • The current eID system could be used.

Someone that wants to check your password shows you a QR code from the government all and you use the eID to scan and authorize.

The person that shows you the code will then be able to access the information they are permitted to see. Border guard gets a digital ID for example.

Hell this could even work for buying alcohol. Store profile > Check if of legal drinking age. The only thing the person gets back is a green checkmark or a red cross.

The access to your profile is logged to your profile with Date, time, who accessed it, why they accessed it and what access profile they had.

This makes sure it is transparent and that you as a user have control over when it is accessible.

  • New Fox

    Jump
  • Or they every now and then put out something like this to cover their asses.

  • For sure.. but this is like chasing the dream. And in china they have an everything app.. so .. they keep pooring billions into these bottemless pits.

Edit: I also think most people don't trust corporations to get them the best deal. So if you ask Amazon to get you product X .. they will fuck you on price.

  • The idea is to get people into your walled garden and then milk them for everything it's worth. Roblox does a good job gaming wise.. kids spend hours playing many different games but never leave Roblox. So the hunt for the solution that can improve on this, is on. If you can get people to order their groceries from within your walled garden and take a cut.. you're golden.
