  • Yes rehabilitation costs money and time, but do you realise that the death penalty often uses more money and resources than keeping somebody alive and in prison for the remainder of their life?

It baffles me when people like you jump to these extreme conclusions. Kids a fucked up little shit, but here you are calling for his death. That in itself is extremely fucked up.

  • Why do you think this?

Many of these athletes don't even agree with the war and many are public about this disagreement.

Even the Olympics allows these athletes to perform under a none disclosed flag.

Why should Russian and Belarusian athletes be punished individually for the actions of their countries government?

I'll point you to Wimbledon this year where Belarusian Victoria Azarenka was unfairly boo'd off court after her loss with Ukrainian Elina Svitolina. Azarenka has been openly against the war since it started. Why should she be punished?

  • This.

Wimbledon banned russian and Belarusian athletes last year. With the ban being lifted for this year's event. One Belarusian athlete (victoria azarenka) was even boo'd at Wimbledon after her loss against Ukraine athlete Elina Svitolina, who refused to shake hands with any Russian or Belarusian.

Azarenka is openly against the war and has been since the war started, but is still being treated unfairly as a villain.

I understand this is a near impossible task, but sports (particularly the athletes) and politics should stay separate.

  • Yeah you might weigh the bunch of bananas at the checkout, but you won't find many individual bananas at most supermarkets.

You might see individual pieces of fruit sold with lunch meal deals (sandwiches, drink fruit etc) but not in the regular grocery section.

  • This whole idea behind "oh once the cities get it so will the rural areas" is total bullshit.

    This is all too true.

Ahhh the "solution" with park and rides! My city tried this, and three years later they remain largely empty. 🤦‍♂️ Let all drive in the rough direction we need to go, stop a few miles short, just to wait around for 20 minutes to get a bus there.

  • The public transport argument is just not feasible for most people though.

I live in a suburb of a city in the UK. For me to get to work I need to take two busses and a train which equates to around 2.5 hours of travel each way without delays. Alternatively I can drive to work in less than 40 minutes.

Public transport is only the future ifit becomes a realistic and reliable alternative. At the moment, that is simply not the case for the majority of people. And in my city the public transport has arguably gotten worse in the last decade.

Ofcourse this is location dependent. When I lived in London you couldn't have paid me to drive a car as the public transport was far easier to use.

Bring on the downvotes for speaking the truth

  • Doesn't the left lane in the roundabout state "ahead only" which would indicate you need to be in the left lane to take that exit.

It also looks like the exit only has one lane, which is another indicating factor. If the exit had two lanes, then either lane would be fine
