Yeah, I don't see any public interest involved at all when it comes to the issue of presidents using their power to get their relatives off jail time. I don't think it undermines the sense of justice and equality that all citizens are supposed to have if the "first among equal citizens" can get their crackhead middle ages son off of already lenient legal consequences for actions that others are serving hard time for. Not at all a conspicuous legal hole that undermines the concept of the rule of law, and definitely not open to abuse.

Liberalism across the West is a rotting carcass unfortunately. In 2000 the EU sanctioned Austria because an anti-refugee party got 52 seats in the National Congress. Today, that party has 57 seats and its view on refugees are basically what Kier Starmer and Van der Leyen believe.
In 2016 we mocked Trump's wall. In 2024 Kamala Harris says she will actually build it and chides him for not doing so.
There is no published science definitively proving that it is harmful or helpful. The effects of this particular legislation, if it is impactful at all, remains to be seen. I'm just offering my opinion based on my personal experiences. I expect it to have some success in reducing acute adolescent mental health issues. If the matter is ever settled through consensus, I'll defer to that.
I support this move. Some here are delusionally arguing that this impacts privacy - the sort of data social media firms collect on teenagers is egregiously extensive regardless. This is good support for their mental health and development.
That's a very fair point. Unfortunately, one party in your two-party system worships Israel and the other one adores it. It's hard to claim infiltration and interference when it is encouraged and even enshrined in law, culture, media etc. The only political movements - social democracy abd libertarianism - that are opposed to these developments are essentially barred from political power.
