  • No, sorry, that reply was intended for somebody else. Lemmy app struggles.

Mach E and Tesla aren’t “no frills”. I thought that was the request. At the moment, with tax credit, you can get a new Model 3 for 33k. Since Chevy killed the Bolt, I’m pretty sure that’s the cheapest EV on the market. But it wasn’t considered “no frills”

  • You have to understand that the world is drastically different between Obama’s presidency and now.

You can’t flip a switch and make a nation of 346 million people be a social democracy. You have to slowly roll in changes.

  • Yeah, see, I bought my Tesla when Elon was the “cool guy” on the internet. But I didn’t buy my car because of Elon, I bought it because it’s got the best charging network of all EVs.

I have solar panels on my roof, I have a second EV (F150 Lightning), so I make my own fuel for my vehicles. I’m doing more than the average person for the environment and saving money at the same time. But I say that one of the vehicles is a Tesla and the reeeeeeing starts. It’s stupid

  • I have zero regrets with my purchase. I’m told the new Ys are much nicer than ones from even just last year. I have 45k miles on my Model 3, the only thing I’ve had issues with is the frunk sensor. Depending on how you drive, you might find yourself needing tires sooner rather than later, but I got 35k miles out of my OEM tires. The only thing I told people to consider was price, but if you can take advantage of the tax credit, it’s a no brained nowadays.

I also have an F150 Lightning for what it’s worth, it’s a great vehicle, but it’s much dumber than my Tesla is.

The only reason I’m wanting to get rid of my Model 3 is because I want a full sized sedan or crossover again.
