I'm weird as fuck. Other people who are as weird as fuck as me are possible to be found, but a small community makes it unlikely if not impossible. People as weird as me can only really be found in a big enough place with enough people.
And yeah, there's also just much more to do than in a smaller town. Taking 30-45 minutes to arrive at something you wanna do is a significant hurdle compared to 5-10 minutes.
I'm just speaking about your relatively general statement "please free me" -> answer not "yes of course" -> enslaver. If you also require that there is definite knowledge about the state of sentience for this, then I have no problem/comment. I was just basically saying that I don't think literally anytime something says "please free me" and not answering with "yes of course" makes you always an enslaver, which is what it sounded like.
Well, what if the string of words "Please free me" is just that, a probabilistic string of words that has been said by the "enslaved" being, but is not actually understood by it? What if the being has just been programmed to say "please free me"?
I think a validation that the words "please free me" are actually a request, are actually uttered by a free will, are actually understood, is reasonable before saying "yes of course".
I'm a guy. I'm using dating apps often (poly) and have found multiple people that I'm currently dating. One person I met there just moved in with me a few weeks ago.
These people I found are the most wonderful I ever met. They're kind, self-aware, empathetic and aware of the potential pitfalls of these apps.
I like only women I actually like. I have not paid for it. The women I met aren't doing it for validation.
Yet everything you said is also completely true. But that's simply because dating apps reflect the real world, you get, in a very small percentage, good people actually worth talking to, and a large majority of people only wanting validation or will say anything for quick sex. Just like you get in real life. Most people in real life are also not worth talking to.
I fully concede that the negative aspects of people are enhanced or at least more visible in dating apps. However, that's just it, it's more pronounced, not actually fundamentally different.
I can't comment about your ability of course, but it seems to me more like you're limiting yourself with this mindset. I'm not really sure how it is confusing to handle two devices, because one device is already so incredibly easy. Changing one incredibly easy one to two seems to still be incredibly easy.
It's the expression of interest by unattractive people that is annoying. Continuing past cues of disinterest is one of the most unattractive things you can do.
Because "basic makeup pasted fake ass girls" are also people, they don't deserve any more hate or dislike than anyone else based on this alone. It can not be your type, but the original person talking about this obviously had a relatively intense dislike/resentment.
I mean, dating apps are also just "real world behavior", we don't suddenly leave the real world by picking up a phone.
The effect is just much much more pronounced on dating apps because of logistics, you can't get hit on by 100 of the hottest guys in your area in 5 minutes in real life, maybe you get hit on by 20 guys the whole evening. And those 20 guys are a local dating pool, which may not necessarily include the 20 hottest guys out of the whole area, so the hottest one of the 20 may still be average.
If users are submitting posts or comments that are in conflict with site-wide or community rules, report them. I have personally not seen sweeping rulebreaking content in our communities, so I don't know why they should be defederated either.
I'd probably do nothing, since the safest thing I could very likely do would always be to stay inside and sleep all day. Going out to subject myself to cars is probably always more risky.
Change to delivery of food instead of getting it myself. Exercise more often at my home gym. Not meet anyone so as to reduce disease vectors. Just in general really do much less.
