Yeah, it's one of my favorite little historical developments on the internet. A totally local convention that made perfect sense in the context of mIRC and similar things, yet persisted as an independent meaningful token.

Not really saying that it's independent, just that it's not a random propaganda rag. Given that they've already received a strike mid 2022, they're operating within a narrow corridor of permitted professionalized speech. Even a budding totalitarian regime is interested in having a decent financial newspaper to prop up the business/investment sector, and RBC is a far cry from the shrill propagandistic dross produced by Kremlin-originating sources. So, I don't trust them to report everything, but I don't expect them to outright produce fake news. That goes against the mutually beneficial niche they have settled in.

Eh, I'd say that this one is fairly blatant about it. You can tick boxes without sacrificing plot coherence and world building.

I personally dropped it, since it suffers from committee-approved writing: there must be random action scenes, love interests and personal stories of exceptionalism. If you don't mind the plot sometimes taking second place in favor of illogical standard Hollywood fare, it's well shot, with okay acting, and an overall nice aesthetic.

Oh, awesome! Does it do speaker detection? That's been one of my main gripes with Whisper.
