  • How long before one Senator just up and shoots another Senator? Anyone starting a pool? I know MTG and Boebert both conceal carry while on the floor.

  • I say to fucking take the bait. Come down hard, be a "tyrant" for once. Do what Lincoln did, suspend habeas corpus, declare martial law, slap every GOP Governor siding with this shit in handcuffs. They want to act like criminals, treat them as criminals.

  • Fuck em. Ignore them until they cross the line, then come down on them like a ton of bricks. No more playing nice, no more treating them like reasonable adults.

Damn straight! As a parent to an actual toddler, sometimes I have to take my son's toys away until he chooses to behave. Does that make me the "bad guy"? Maybe. But it's also part of being an adult.

  • No matter what Biden does, they're going to do what they're going to do.

Ah, another Innuendo Studios fan, I see. Yes, just like he said in "Alt-Right Playbook Ep. 3, 'You Go High, We Go Low'",

Republicans are going to cry "So much for the tolerant left!" no matter what form our opposition takes, so the obvious solution is to just ignore them. But clearly it's more complicated than that, or we wouldn't be having this issue.

This business with the border is another example of them going low, and Biden and Democrats trying to keep the moral high ground.

  • These bills are ridiculous on their face, and I believe that is on purpose. The people proposing these bills know they haven't got a snowball's chance in Hell of passing, but that's not the point. The point is to gum up the works.

  • Like, for a party that is full of anti-mask sentiment, they sure do love to wear metaphorical masks. One thing I said at the exit interview for a job I worked is, "When are you going to admit that you don't really see me or any of the guys on the shop floor as 'people'?"

And I'd like to put it forward to Republicans. What's it going to take to get you to take your mask off? What's it going to take to get you to admit you see everyone who isn't you as livestock? You know you're full of shit, we know you're full of shit, and you know that we know, and we know that you know that we know. Can we just drop the pretense and be honest with each other for a little bit?

It's like, when two people are in a romantic relationship, and that relationship enters a rough patch, but instead of fighting, moving on, and healing, both sides just have some unspoken agreement to keep pretending that everything is fine. The more I think about it, I kinda realize that it's like a game of chicken. First to drop the charade loses. And neither side wants to lose.

  • Here's how I see it. Dems want WW3, GOP wants 2nd Civil War. I'm backing Dems because, as much as it sucks to admit it, we as Americans need an external threat or we will rip each other's throats out. I cannot recall a time of relative peace since the 90's.

  • So what are you proposing? Go on, say it with your chest.

  • This one is in a school zone. People really shouldn't be speeding through them unless they're a "fuck them kids" kinda person, and if you are you're a piece of shit.

  • True. Also, openly taking a swing at spooks is not a good idea. One wrong move and next thing you know you're unpersoned.

  • Even simpler than that. Biden is the Commander in Chief. Abbot can mobilize the National Guard in his state, but at the end of the day if their commander receives a stand down order direct from the President, they MUST obey, or it's insubordination and the penalty for insubordination within the military is much higher than in the private sector.

  • Yes. They want to claim that "POTUS is King and therefore can do no wrong."? Okay. Let's test them to see how true that is. Sure would be a shame if a couple Tomahawks were let off the chain and Mar-a-Lago happened to be the target and Trump happened to be there.

  • Warms my heart to see the youth choosing to walk the Rebel Path.

  • Our priorities are ass backwards when it comes to education. "Bean counters see a school whose students aren't passing the standardized testing? Slash their funding, that'll make them work harder!"

  • I think education is part of the problem. The legal age of adulthood is 18 in the US, but we don't teach kids to be adults before then. We teach them how to pass standardized testing so the schools can say they're not failing and continue to receive the most state and federal funding they can. Public schools in the US got really bad a teaching actual life skills along the way, mostly because we had a bunch of conservatives saying it's the parent's job to do that. I haven't kept up with education for a while, so I don't even know if kids are learning how to balance a checkbook.

  • This isn't so much about intellectual growth, as it is is about contract law. How many kids ended up over $100k in debt before 25 because they didn't fully read and understand the pieces of paper they were told to sign to go to college? The biggest lie on the Internet is, "I have read, understood, and agree to the Terms of Service." I think, for some kids, it's too much to ask that they learn how to read a contract, unless you want to make it a graduation requirement, but that's a whole other conversation.

  • Honestly I'm okay with making the age of legal adulthood 25 years, and I'm part of one of the last generations that could buy cigarettes in the US at 18. A long time ago, people didn't live as long as they do now, so it was just kinda mutually agreed upon that an 18 year old kid was smart enough to read and enter into a contract. Military enlistment? Contract. Marriage? Contract. Home loan? Contract. Can you honestly say that at 18 you knew what you were signing up for with every contract and agreement you were signing?

  • I dunno. Speaking as a male, the reason I see older men seeking far younger women is that it's easy to seem like the smartest guy in the room when you're also the oldest guy in the room. You can project an air of worldliness that makes you seem smarter and wiser than you really are. You can get younger women, legal women, fawning over you because they're young and haven't really experienced enough of life and people to be wise to the bullshit. They avoid women around their own age because they've been around, they know all the tricks.
