  • Tannins and other compounds in tea can bind to heavy metals. Tho' really I'd suggest not drinking water that has heavy metals in it, if at all possible. Edit: And for that matter, it would be amazing to avoid heavy metals in food as well.

  • Dr. Borrenpohl is gonna kick their booties, metaphorically and legally speaking. As of this morning, 7.7k donations, and $239K raised with the vast majority of donations at $100 and below. And you know the subjects of this suit are aware of this fact, they are probably watching that GFM as closely as we are.

  • Every time he says something off the wall. Someone needs to lean in, sock him, and say something like, "think before you speak." Including, and especially his secret service detail. I don't think he can learn to do otherwise, it's just a tangible acknowledgment if his inherent idiocy.

  • Go CANADA!! I'd sign if I was able.

    Petition to the Prime Minister Whereas:

            Elon Musk has engaged in activities that go against the national interest of Canada;
        He has used his wealth and power to influence our elections;
        He has now become a member of a foreign government that is attempting to erase Canadian sovereignty; and
        The attempts of Elon Musk to attack Canadian sovereignty must be addressed.

    We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada, call upon the Prime Minister to revoke Elon Musk's dual citizenship status, and revoke his Canadian passport effective immediately.

    and

    Petition to the Government of Canada Whereas:

            The Canadian government and its agencies have historically used social media to provide timely updates during crises and major events;
        Twitter, now known as X, has become a platform widely criticised for amplifying misinformation, conspiracy theories, and harmful rhetoric; and
        The government's continued use of X legitimises and directs traffic to a platform that no longer prioritises fact-based, accessible public communication.

    We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to transition official government communications away from Twitter/X to more secure, community-regulated platforms that prioritise public safety, accurate information, and accessibility. We encourage the government to explore publicly accountable alternatives, including decentralised networks, to ensure reliable and responsible communication with Canadians.

  • As of this moment, 4.6K donations. Lots of 5-10-25-50$, and a few larger ones, from what I saw. I think we should all donate to the cause. 'Apes together strong.'

    "She was denied her freedom of assembly, her freedom of speech, and most importantly, her right to be free from unlawful detention." In these times in particular we should all be concerned about our rights, and the rights of others.

  • "Explaining how the military’s top brassusually are not replaced by incoming Commanders-in Chief, Sherrillwarned: “Trump and Hegseth are trying to gut the military’s leadership so they can use the armed forces to carry out their personal, political agenda. This move will threaten America’s national security, show weakness to dictators worldwide like Vladimir Putin, and give Donald Trump unchecked power to abuse our military.” "

  • "in more than 20 states" - so way less than 1/2. I'm seeing Georgia, and Louisiana. South Dakota, and Florida. Tennessee, and Wyoming. Wyoming has no sanctuary cities, but are being 'proactive' against them. New Hampshire, and Missouri. Yep, 8 are mentioned in the article, so yeah, "more than 20" is apparently BS. Illinois is fighting with the Fed re: sanctuary cities & immigration.
