Dont think so, only way I know is cause I was checking around to see if the bot was responding to people properly and saw that comment early before it was edited
Since snowe is the one building it they would be the one able to give more specifics but since the instance itself is the one building it we have more control over adapting it specifically for polling and stopping bad actors in the context of polling rather than tacking some stuff onto upvotes.
Edit: Deleted the last sentence I wrote and rewrote it here. It will be possible to limit it to instance members only (since we can just not make the feature federate) but it shouldn't need to come to that and it can be tracked what instances has people voting to catch outliers while still allowing active people in this instance with accounts on some others have a say. Again though thats just my thoughts on the polling but im not the one building it
The issue with using upvotes as a voting mechanism is they can be easily faked due to federation. Someone can just whip up an instance with 200 accounts and mass upvote one of the options
Note if you put the image link in the url bar of the post rather than the body it lets people see it while scrolling
(url + title can be edited so you can edit it to do that still if you want)
yeah in the past ive tried to use different third party sites but havent found one that really works
rcv123 is the best option but its very easy to cheat in it by opening a new browser. snowe has been setting up a native voting system in lemmy that we might be able to use eventually
thanks noted it down. You can delete that reply if you want if you want to keep your vote anonymous
you can also give your second choice, third choice etc if you want if that doesnt get enough votes since its ranked voting
(preferably in a dm to me to keep anonymity in the voting)
sorry for the two deleted messages there, thought it was a dm in my notifs
The amount of subs there are the amount of people in this instance that have subscribed to that community. It doesnt convey that fact very well and the other stats arent updated to also reflect that though
Unfortunately not possible rn with the information the api currently gives. The only thing you can get in terms of instances is the instance id but you need the name to use it in a link
The bot might become redundant very soon though since v18 has a feature to autoconvert links into relative links
I'll look into opening an issue on the repo soon for it, haven't looked much into getting it working with federation yet but will try to get it to work with kbins system when I do
(do !remindme 2 years)
