  • Nah, I think it'll just be probation with generous terms. If they put him on house arrest, he'll challenge that saying it's political and it will prevent him from campaigning. It'll be easier to just slap him with a "you have to report your travel plans" and a few hours of community service. He deserves much more, but it'll cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars and take years if they actually try to punish him. I'll call it a win if we can always refer to him as "convicted felon DT" and let him walk. That will give more ammo for harsher sentences for the federal cases.

  • No, we're talking about people lobbing a handful of rockets at a multi-billion dollar defense system that is more than capable of stopping such a small attack. Kind of like throwing rocks at a tank.

Then we're talking about a response of bombing tents that have no defense system. Kind of like using a tank to fire shells at a person in response to a rock being thrown.

  • The IDF said stop resisting. All they had to do was behave and comply and none of this would have happened. It was self defense. Israel felt threatened. Well, what were they wearing? Am I doing it right?

  • Shlomo Brom, a former deputy to Israel’s national security adviser, told the New York Times that an empowered Hamas helped Netanyahu avoid negotiating over a Palestinian state, saying the division of the Palestinians helped him make the case that he had no partner for peace in the Palestinians, thus avoiding pressure for peace talks that could lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. (source)

Damn those anti-israeli national security advisors.

  • I got the Eufy S330 doorbell/keypad lock. The kids have their own pin and can lock/unlock without a key. I get notifications when they use it and can remotely lock/unlock via my phone. It's been fantastic for us.

  • I'd agree with that, but calling it privilege is a bad name. Because how do you implement equality when dealing with privilege? You take from the privileged to level the playing field. So when you apply that to being privileged because you aren't being discriminated against, the solution is to remove that privilege? So... do more discrimination so everyone is equal?

When you instead identify those that are oppressed and those that are not, the solution to equality is to remove the oppression. So when applied to our situation, remove the discrimination so everyone is equally not discriminated against.

  • That's actually really interesting!

TL;DR they gave the coast to the Ottoman Empire hundreds of years ago for free because they were tired of fighting invaders from the sea. Free protection in exchange for cities they weren't able to defend anyway.

  • Kids these days are lazy shits. All you have to do to earn $1,000,000,000 by 30 is drop out of school at 15 and work full time 40 hrs/wk with no vacation days. It's tough, but it's possible.

Oh forgot one part: hourly pay needs to average out to $32,051/hr and have exactly zero expenses for 15 years.

  • Returning to the 1967 borders is a nonstarter. Israel has stolen a LOT of land since then so it would mean evicting entire Israeli settlements. Not that I disagree with doing that, but Israel would never agree to it. It would be like the US giving good land back to the native Americans; it's simply never going to happen.

  • The author apparently hasn't been paying attention the last 8 years. Republicans are most certainly not going to come to the realization that Trump is unfit for office and suddenly decide to run a new candidate a couple months before the election. They have no play but to double down on Trump.
