  • EOs are not laws and can only direct the federal government's actions. The President has no authority to unilaterally control a company, except for scenarios where it is interacting with the federal government. Just like the "two genders" EO, it only applies to the federal government. States and companies can continue to support non-binary and other options for sex and gender identity.

  • Yes, to the tune of 10s or maybe a couple 100s of millions of dollars. But now Saudi Arabia can come in and buy a billion worth of the coin as a direct donation to trump with zero oversight. This is open corruption on a scale we simply haven't seen before.

  • I set up LastPass for my parents but they refuse to use it. My mom got locked out of her Facebook account and can't regain access because she doesn't know the password, doesn't know the email it was registered with, and her phone died so she can't prove any prior access. Too bad so sad. Still won't use LastPass.

  • West Coast is best coast! People are generally a lot more chill than east coast. If you're of a particular age, just consider Tupac vs. Biggie. Their personalities sum it up nicely.

Work-wise, business in the US will already be underway when you get to work, and starts dying down after your lunch. If you interact with people on the east coast, mornings are busier and afternoons are much quieter.

West Coast is generally more racially/ethnically diverse, depending on where you're comparing. It's also a lot more liberally aligned. Conservativism hits differently too. There's less evangelical "Jesus is my personality" types and more "get off my property and leave me alone" conservatives. It's how legal weed was passed in CO first; conservatives joined in on the yes vote because what you do in your own home isn't the government's business.

The weather is generally better, IMO. It's drier and sunnier year-round, except for the PNW region. That means less vegetation though. The dense deciduous forests of the south/east have their own appeal, and you just won't get that out west. The land is a lot more open and sparse.

  • Right, you gave up. Implying that you did hold the opinion that there should be a special word for anti-jewish, and likely still do hold that position, but the meaning of the word has changed from your desired definition. I'm asking why you did, and maybe still do, believe anti-jewish should have its own unique word in the first place.

ETA: I'm asking legitimately. I've never understood why anti-jewish hate is so much more special than anti-muslim, anti-black, or any other sort of bigotry. I understand the persecution of Jews throughout history, but I also understand the persecution of Muslims, black people, etc. throughout history.

  • That sounds plausible. My understanding of one of the key differences between autists and allists is that the autistic brain processes info from the ground up, which is to say that all the details are collected and the interpretation of the data is done by considering the sum of those details. A non-neurodivergent brain pre-summarizes and you get the gist of the data without seeing all the details. This is what makes autistic folks so good at processing large amounts of detail, and so bad/slow at interpretation of social situations.

From what I've read, understanding of ADHD is trending towards being seen as similar to autism as it largely boils down to very similar information processing differences.
