  • In the US, evangelical xtians focus a lot more on the old testament. That yields a lot more fire and brimstone with a particular focus on punishment. This is where you find all the stories about god turning people into pillars of salt and committing genocide because he was grumpy. The new testament, i.e. the teachings of Jesus, focuses on kindness and compassion. Focusing on new or old testaments will yield wildly different moral structures.

  • The states are beginning to openly disrespect the authority of the federal government. Texas Gov. Abbott directly said he believes Texas State law supercedes federal law. There is no basis for that position in law; the law dictates exactly the opposite. If Texas refuses to respect the authority of the United States of America and the rulings of the Supreme Court, the only way to resolve that is civil war.

  • There you go. Dehumanizing Palestinian people. Claiming you don't mean all of them doesn't make a bit of difference. There are lots of really horrific people, but they're still human beings and we must not forget that. Using your language to claim otherwise is how this genocide is being allowed to happen. You're literally using Nazi language. You're disgusting.

  • I was referencing Israel's official comment on the matter from the article. This is what you're defending by supporting Israel in this situation:

On October 9, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced a “complete siege” of the Gaza Strip. “We are fighting human animals, and we are acting accordingly,” Gallant said.

With 25,000+ lives taken by Israel, many of them women and children civilians, you can't make the argument he's not talking about treating civilians like animals.

  • Calling Palestinian civilians animals and refusing to allow them food and medical supplies isn't going to improve the situation. What do you think is going to happen? Is Hamas going to say "oh guys, I think we made them mad this time. Better release the hostages so they don't do anything violent!"?

  • That sounds like good police work. They knew where the person was, went to the area, and used their words to resolve the situation. If only all cops could show this kind of restraint and patience when apprehending a suspect...

  • Epic is just a troll company. They donated to Godot when it served as a jab in the side of their competition (unity). Their entire business model is to inflict Stockholm Syndrome on their users via free games.

  • I wonder how this will go down in court. It clearly says "person" and the money was paid to a corporation. Trump's businesses aren't holding any office, therefore the constitution wasn't violated. That's obviously horse shit, but they're arguing that the presidency isn't an office (CO ballot case). So if they win that it seems likely SCOTUS will drop a nuke on the emoluments clause too.

  • White House national security spokesperson John Kirby told reporters on Thursday that the United States sees no basis for South Africa’s allegation of genocide against Israel over civilian deaths in Gaza.

We're the bad guys... I'm so embarrassed.

  • He knows all this. This is just more nonsense to drag it out. The court can't just say "shut the fuck up Donny" and move forward else he'll claim unfair treatment. So they have to accept the motions and take the time to carefully disqualify them. This is just a tactic to cast more doubt on the proceedings and make it take longer so he can complain about how they're dragging it out to make him look bad because he's innocent and they don't have the evidence to convict.

  • For now, developing clear and equitable division eligibility policies and subsequently, allowing transgender athletes to compete in the appropriate division is prudent.

So like creating divisions based on skill instead of gender so all people can compete with any other athletes of a similar ability?
