  • libinput-gestures IS a game changer.

Please note that if you are using KDE wayland, some defaults are set and cannot be overriden, which is frustrating. You might have to use X11 session instead.

If you really want to use wayland, libinput-gestures will not work with 'xdotool' and most of the other gestures reader will be slow. In that case, you might want to use a program called evemu. It's not... intuitive.

If you need help on this, don't hesitate to reply to this message. I'll gladly help. Not so long ago I was walking in your shoes.

  • My phone with NFC died a year ago so... Take what I say with a pinch of salt.

If I remember correctly you can use NFC tools pro to emulate a NFC tag. It doesn't always work. I think it's in the write section then emulate.

There are however hardware limitations on emulation because of sector 0. Maybe try to copy your NFC card to a blank NFC tag (get it cheap on eBay) then if it succeeds go toward emulation.

  • There was Pidgin for multipurpose IM. But it was ugly and didn't have the functionnalities that mess.be gave your MSN Messenger with Messenger+.

To have those functionalities there was Kmess. It gave you username colours, chat while offline, etc. And it was (for the time) visually pleasant !

I'm quite surprised. The website still exists !!! Kmess Website
