  • On the one hand I'm surprised, but on the other I'm not since most political consultants are fucking out of touch idiots, but I think they were lazy and went for the more recent "hate Palestine or you're an antisemite" bit and found it didn't work.

Next I'm worried they're going to use the much more effective "defund the police makes you unsafe" bit and lean heavier into the "communist" game, if he doesn't get deported first of course... I'm very happy he won the primary, but I have very little faith he's going to win the general election unfortunately :/

  • In 2145 the competition between the two states takes a violent turn as the cyberpolarbear division meets the mechacowboys in brutal mechanized combat, fighting in the sweltering heat among the gaint sand dunes in the deserts of Anchorage.

  • Unless I'm getting my right wing "shadowy organizations" mixed up, it was the now well known heritage foundation that created the short list of judges for Republicans to choose from for something like the last 40 years, so these are all their judges, and looking at project 2025 we know what the heritage foundation wants for the country...

It's not rainbows and ponies that's for sure.

  • If something is unconstitutional then it's unconstitutional. I don't understand why they're creating more unnecessary work so now party A complains, courts say ok it's not right, but now party B has to go through the same process, etc etc etc... so now we have to have essentially 50 individual cases to go over the same thing when each state encounters this issue unless they can manage to create a class lawsuit out of it.

To my cynical mind it seems like excessive delay on otherwise straightforward cases was the intended outcome.

  • Apparently I'm the result of a ripped condom and I've already made it known that I wished they'd have aborted. They divorced within a year of my birth, neither had any business being a parent. I still care about them enough that I don't want them to suffer at all so I'm just waiting until they pass so I can do the job myself.

  • Well he may not be afraid, but I'm legitimately concerned the administration will deport him under the guise of that anti-conmunist law the Reich wing is buzzing about... There is no stopping them if they wanted to. :(

  • I definitely feel for you guys in Europe, a lot of tough arguments to be had with employers coming up... If I understand correctly AC isn't that common because it historically hasn't been as necessary as it has been in the US. The future unfortunately is looking to make it necessary pretty much everywhere :(

  • While generally true, I think "the media" does what I mentioned in order to "manufacture consent" in cases like this. They want to create the image of what is "real" and what "people you should believe" think. God forbid you should think for yourself and agree with a spooky spooky socialist, no no we need to make you afraid of him! We need you to believe that only "freeloaders" vote for him and "real taxpayers" will be hurt by him!

  • Unfortunately I strongly believe peaceful protest only works with a government that actually gives a shit. If we had a government that was comprised of people who we simply disagreed with but who still respected "the will of the people" they'd react to massive outcries.

We do not have that government. We have a government actively pushing for the president to have dictator "unitary executive" powers. As in: setting the president above the judiciary, and having Congress subservient to the presidency. They do not give a single solitary fuck about how upset we are about XYZ thing.

  • As a perpetually online individual I could swear that "conservatives" absolutely hated "thought crime" and political persecution for their beliefs...

Ohhhhh right, hypocrisy. I almost forgot. "Conservatives" use words as weapons and are only consistent in their inconsistent stated beliefs.
