Can you offer any proof of that beyond some disgusting statements by the finance minister, who is not setting military policy?

Is Israel stealing land in the Gaza strip? Unlike the West Bank there are no settlements and the border is a clearly defined wall. I agree if they forcibly resettle the population and claim the strip for themselves that would be ethnic cleansing, but they haven't done that.

Pushing civilians out of a city during war is common practice (see literally any Eastern Ukrainian city). Pushing them out of their country is not. Gaza is essentially an urban city-state which conflates these two actions.

The US never fought an urban country the size of Las Vegas, so a country-scale comparison is poor. We have however engaged in city-scale battles lasting several months, many of which killed 1% of the civilian population. A pretty good recent example is Mosul. There are several more egregious examples in the world wars, Korea, Vietnam, etc. notably we carpet bombed Tokyo for months killing several percent of the population.

Yup you're right of course. It was a throwaway reply to someone clearly arguing in bad faith. While it isn't legal precedent, it is a fairly compelling defense.

Biden can point to literally dozens of battles, sieges, and wars that the US was directly involved in and resulted in similar levels of civilian casualties, with no genocide accusations. This is not going anywhere.

Yup fair point I didn't know that. Unity presumably does this with dlls that a technical user can easily swap out. In principle an asset store script could do this, but it would be very difficult to verify and enforce so I can see why they'd just ban the license outright as a CYA thing.

Maybe the answer is to distribute a vlc dll separately and only ship a linking/driving script via the asset store.

LGPL requires distributing the license with any code. I imagine unity does that with the core code, but it would be difficult to enforce that for assets distributed in their store, which they would be liable for legally. I imagine this will be resolved, but I no longer use Unity so idfc

Right, 20-25k deaths (of which about 8k are Hamas soldiers). That's 1% of the population total, or about 0.8% of the civilian population. The person I responded to claimed 10% without any evidence.

This article is a classic "find some stats to back up my political position" nonsense. They admit that the world bank findings directly contradict what they want and so redefine "purchasing power parity" to suit their needs. Apparently a more socialist weighing of "basic needs" better suits an argument for socialism? Then they make the somewhat bizarre assertion that socialist China had better life expectancy and infant mortality than Indonesia, Brazil, and India at that time. Maybe that's true, but wtf does it have to do with the merits of socialism?
