  • It's not about what is better for both parties, it's about control. Leadership and the 1% want to keep us in line. If they relent and give us a better work/life balance, what's next? Raises that match inflation? Better benefits?

  • Do you understand the viewpoint that if you are against affirmative action, you are appeasing the right? Actions speak louder than words, and while affirmative action wasn't perfect when rolled out, it was better than lip service while doing nothing.

Let's take your statement for example: Someone wants to have equal and fair treatment. The left side makes an argument for how to make things more fair. The right side says no, you don't deserve those rights. The centrist then says, I think you should have rights, but not right now, or not this way. When the centrists appease the right, they are seen as the right.

  • So on the right, you have people who don't want an entire subset of the population to exist. On the left, you have those people who are fighting for the right to exist. Tell me where a centrist falls in this situation. How can you meet in the middle?

  • When people say 'I could care less'. I know what they mean, but it is absolutely not what they said. I hate it even more when I hear it in a song or a TV show/movie. That tells me it made its way past a whole slew of writers and editors. I hate it. It's 'I couldn't care less'. COULDN'T!!! Like you care so little that you couldn't care any less.

  • On Cinema at the Cinema. Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington have been doing this bizarre fake movie review show for over a decade now. Every year their season culminates in a live broadcast Oscar special that is a train wreck. They've also had their characters produce really shitty movies in universe that us, as the audience get to view. There are so many jokes that build up on the years of abuse each character hurls at the other. One season there was even a full mock courtroom trial where Tim was being tried for the wrongful death of 19 people that attended a music festival he put on.

Most of the early seasons are available on YouTube, and there is even a guide @ oncinematimeline.com, but the newer seasons require a subscription to view. Really worth it more than any other streaming service.

    I can't recommend it enough.
