  • Actually, Bulk Crap Uninstaller is the better way to go over Revo. Does everything Revo does, and more, and it's FOSS.

  • That was my response. You shouldn't be doing personal tasks on a work phone. Has that ever been a thing corporations wouldn't immediately fire you for? VPN or not, NSFW or SFW, don't browse Lemmy or other social media on your work devices. Ever. Depending on who you work for, it could even be highly illegal, especially if it's a government job.

  • No, but you should probably not still be perpetrating the actions you're pointing out as problematic yourself. Now I don't know exactly what country in Europe you're from, but I'm willing to bet money you can think, privately in your head if you wish, of something your nation is doing right this moment that would probably fall under the same definition as the acts you rightly accuse us of. Am I right?

  • Unless you're addressing every Western nation with your remarks, then it's just whitewashing your own nation's crimes against humanity. Pointing that out isn't whataboutism, it's a perfectly valid argument addressing your hypocrisy. I'm not going to say you're wrong, because you're not. But I think we can all agree we had really good teachers on how to be horrible.

So maybe don't call people laughingstocks over something your country is probably also still engaging in to this day, eh?

  • Pity. But judging from your vernacular, you're from a Western country, none of which have a stellar history when it comes to colonialism and imperialism. So I would wager your particular nation has done some really shitty, fucked up things in the past. Probably at least a few genocides, eh? Maybe more? Shall we gloss over those atrocities, so your comment doesn't come off as ridiculous?

  • I use Jerboa, which is the best client for Lemmy, not Sync.

  • You're using personal software like Lemmy on your company phone?

  • Please tell me you're British. Because that would make your moralizing about Americans go from mildy amusing to outstandingly hilarious.

  • Wait, this article makes it sound like Meta would have to pay for other people posting links on Facebook to news websites. If that's the case, that's nuts. Are they gonna try doing this with Reddit and Lemmy too, or does it just apply to Facebook? Cause that's a great way to get Canadian news sites banned from everything on the entire net.

  • If it's a hill I'm gonna die on, I'm sure I'll be downvoted into oblivion.

  • So why didn't you search through the Sync community on Lemmy? This question was already answered there too. Or maybe you just assumed it wasn't and didn't bother looking?

  • You're like a dog, loaded down with ticks, complaining about the single flea on him. That's what you sound like, you know?

  • Exactly where did I diss open source? Did you read my comment, or just jump to the reply button?

  • Unless you're handing your phone over and letting them root it, they almost certainly are not MITMing your traffic. At best, they can see you're using a VPN. If they are able to snoop your traffic, either your VPN is absolutely shit, or you changed some setting you shouldn't have and fucked yourself.

  • Here we are, with rabid FOSS fanboys complaining about tracking in an Android app. Probably posting these angry threads from their Samsungs, loaded down with baked in spyware and adware, and acting superior cause they fiddled around on DuckDuckGo long enough to figure out how to install F-Droid and think now they're elite hackers in total control of their device and data.

If you're running a stock ROM, you've already given all your data away to the manufacturer and Google, at the very least. So don't come on Lemmy bitching about tracking, when half of you wouldn't know what privacy was if I beat you to death with it.

You exquisite knobs. You absolute baffoons.

  • Because it's the official Discord, and it's been around far longer than Sync for Lemmy? What kind of question is that even?

  • Discord is great for things like this. For simple questions, Discord is better than reddit or Lemmy.
