  • The Firefox team responded saying that it's an awful idea and that plenty of people rely on being able to appear human, for example screen readers who need to interact as a human would but then translates it into a format their users can understand.

These propositions are just full of drawbacks for the user, the user actually gains nothing at all. Let's hope this rubbish doesn't take a foothold.

  • Sometimes this approach is the best. What do you actually gain from arguing with people who have no good faith basis for their arguments? It sounds like a headache

  • The response to that type of that phrasing needs to be "so what?" Or "yeah and?"

They've done legitimately the lowest amount of effort needed, carry a child to term.

  • Ooo I like these ones, they remind me of sync without being a direct copy. Really nice concepts

  • People also need to factor in their choice of platform. Things like kbin and Lemmy are always being worked on and improved, but like any software there's definitely going to be bugs, blindspots and issues. I've found a lot of these fediverse systems are being made as best as they can but they don't have the resources like a full on commercial funded endeavor will have (with a dedicated security team etc)

  • Spot on. We're changing XYZ policy and we need everyone to do this training within the week. Wait, why's no one opening my emails

  • People's willingness to seize every opportunity and monetize everything that was once free and open is truly shocking. Every day when I read about another dogshit attempt to make the internet as a whole a worse place, I'm not even supprised anymore

  • The constant attack on healthcare across western countries is starting to become pretty horrifying. Not liking where this is all going

  • Looks like it's migrated down to the bottom right least time I looked, lots of little Easter eggs with fuck Spez on it, neat.

  • Not keen on following these awful proposals. It feels like there's a persistent trend of making the internet shiter than it was beforehand. I get alphabet has a vetted interest in ads and user data, but if they're going to push for this tracking approach I guess it'll be back to fix Firefox again

  • Good to get awareness out there, the more people who know about these federated alternatives the better, even if it means having to use Reddit (where there's still a huge population of potential converts)

  • Need the opposite costume, the overly eager sys admin.

    • wants to force password changes once a month for security
    • constantly changing security policies to reflect the flavor of the month
    • constantly sends out phishing emails tests, wonders why no one replies to any of his emails
  • Yeah I've got a feeling this guy isn't a master of 6D chess, planning some far flung strategy 10 steps ahead. I think he just likes to shitpost and cause drama

  • Get them onto kbin.social. we can always use some extra mates! 🦙

  • Ooo nice work mate. Keen to follow you guys and see how it all turns out. Love looking at fancy things we might be able to integrate into kbin feature wise 🚀

  • Old mate spent billions on this so he can run it into the ground, amazing

  • I thought this was just one of his drug induced sessions where he goes on Twitter and shit posts. But here we are!

  • Eventually someone has to stick hey
