I can't speak for the other contributors but there's been almost 1000 tickets in the space of 2-3 months. I've been fairly busy fixing bugs and trying to improve the UI. I've flagged it to ernest and hopefully this gets resolved soon so we can keep everyone happy 🦙
I've raised this in the matrix chat and have flagged this again to Ernest. I know initially about 2 months ago when the exodus happened that he was scrambling around trying to keep the server running as everyone joined.
Over the last few weeks he's be busy with a flood of PRs with either fixes, new features or support for the upcoming API integration.
I had no idea this ticket existed (mostly because there's been almost 1000 tickets submitted and I've been working on improvements)
Hopefully he can have a look at this and fix these issues soon, I seriously don't think this was done maliciously, but I'll do what I can to raise it (I have minimal exposure to open source licensing so I don't want to touch these files myself)
One thing I'm really surprised about is that the overall screen strength doesn't seem to have improved over the last 5 years. Screens are still much better than what they were over a decade ago (where a drop without a case was pretty much a screen crack)
But I'm finding on my Pixel 7 pro for example that I'm still finding light scratches, it feels like these screens only have a 5 or 6 on the mohz scale where you'd usually expect a 7 or beyond.
It absolutely would matter. Just like how a 4090 costs an absurdly high amount but people will still buy it. For the right person getting 20 degrees knocked off might be worthwhile regardless of how expensive it is.
D4 will always be around. It's one of those games you can leave for years and come back to later. Be super keen on giving it a go once it's decently priced tbh. They definitely don't deserve 100+ AUD for it though
The critiques that Steve laid out in this video were perfectly fine, highlighting the shortcomings of LMG when it comes to actually reviewing content (which is what they're pivoting to, away from 100% entertainment content). A typical Linus arrogant take where he'll learn nothing.
Never trusting rockstar with another game. They CBF to even update RDR2 on PS5 to give it a basic performance mode, so why would I trust any of their new "remakes" will get support

But legitimately from an outside presiding perspective, which instances have people found to be decent, there seems to be a heap of Lemmy instances, each with their own rules and vibes, so what's the go?
I've used vanced for years and revanced for easily 6 months. I haven't heard of anyone getting banned since it uses MicroG for the login, but there could be a part of the TOS everyone signed that says you can't use your account to bypass their "rules", so it could be a technical violation 🤷♂️
That's a fair take also. Plenty of YouTubers have said they get decent money from people who watch their content from premium members. They're never really transparent with how much (compared to a normal user view) these views are giving them, but that's fine.
Revanced is great. I wish it could let me bypass some of the inbuilt limits like not being able to download videos, but that's a small price to pay for removing like 99 of the ads
It's a good option for when you want to follow every instance and not be beholden to the server admin randomly de-federating an instance they don't agree with personally (which was one one of the issues Reddit faced, mods with their own agenda)
If you run your own instance you can choose exactly what you get to interact with
