There's a lot of fatigue going around with everyone trying to sell you on their subscription service, "it's only x cents a day" becomes much more annoying when every facit of life also apparently needs to cost you X cents
I switched to revanced and overall it's been great. Occasionally I'll get ads in the main YouTube dev but never mid roll or pre roll ads which are arguably the most annoying ones
Arguably one of the most important sites too. People had accounts for week over a decade, they're rightly pissed when a place you used to love turns to shit because some dropkick CEO wants to pump his upcoming IPO
Haven't looked at LinkedIn in years, it's just full of low quality recruiters who "have the perfect full stack position for you" that's clearly a front-end or backend position using obscure languages you've got no interest in.
Overall codeberg has been pretty decent, it's where the Kbin project is located. There's been a few outages over the last few weeks but overall it's pretty good.
Feels like they need them for unpaid work, but also don't want to give them too much power. A pretty interested conundrum. Glad I'm not spending effort maintaining a subreddit given how thankless the job is 🤯
Game preservation is something that's already actively biting us in the ass. Apparently the percentage of games that have been saved is on par with early silent motion pictures.
Even if we ensure all the critically acclaimed games are preserved, there's still heaps that are just going to vanish over time and that sucks for everyone.
Still a bit cold out tho!
