  • Generally I add installers using "add non-steam app", then once they install successfully, remove it and instead add the executable that was created.

Proton can do it correctly just it's a PITA navigating the folders to make it work.

Lutris can work but some of it's scipts are outdated or not made with steamdeck in mind

  • I mean, when it's literally the only option you have....

I remember when I first moved here I even called Verizon first. The rep told me, plain and flatout, that comcast, his competitor, was who I had to call, and there was no other provider in my area.

  • He certainly didn't help, but I think it would've been the worst Economic record in modern U.S. history no matter who you put at the helm.

It'd be like blaming any one person for The Great Depression, it was gonna hit either way by the time it happened, whoever was there could only mitigate it.

Though again, he did nothing to help it, and probably did exacerbate the issues....

  • Can't really work with this without examples. I don't think 3D platformer quality went down but I also think it's always been all over the place.

Like Hat in Time wasn't that long ago.

    let's see...got a picture of "3D platformers in past 10 years"

    https://libreddit.kylrth.com/img/ad57oxhe2pfa1.png

I'm looking at it and honestly I need examples as to where you think Ps2 beat out this list so blatantly that there's a clear issue.

  • It's usually people who weren't thinking of giving to a charity until the charity host did it. And it's usually also done for in return for entertainment.

So while there's definitely an overarching goal to get something to a charity, it's usually about grabbing people who would normally not think about doing it.

  • Lets see...

Everything related to Bethesda's mod scene
The entire Touhou doujin scene, even including sold games/music
Sonic games which included fans being brought in for sonic mania
Megaman and Street fighter have huge histories in modding. Pretty sure megaman has an entire fan-game for Zero's orgin story

So...That gives us Bethesda, Sega, and Capcom at minimum for big players, and Touhou pretty much shows you aren't going to lose your fucking IP over this.

No, Nintendo really does just do it more often than everyone else. You don't gain that rep absolutely everywhere just on hearsay.

  • ...You realize that none of that is setting precedent, it just means you can't pursue, right? You still can't lose the IP even in the worst-case scenario, and the first example you gave even says that.

Copyright protection is effectively never lost, unless explicitly given away or the copyright has expired.

You seem to just really strongly want to justify Nintendo's actions, which are not the norm across the industry for how IP issues are handled....

Like yeah there's shitty IP laws, and shitty trademark laws, but they don't justify Nintendo's specific reactions.

  • I don't get why people think this is an issue. armed Americans are generally shown going against incompetent, untrained police officers. Not the Military who is also just armed better than Americans are legally allowed to be.

Most gun law defenders also tend to overlook this too in fact. If the government wants to make armed citizens stop, they will do it.

  • I mean...sure you should be able to wait on the updates, but that's not that common once you actually do the updates. And it's not as if you don't do updates on Steam deck (You absolutely should, and the flathub apps have tons of updates at least weekly when I run them)

  • Calling people emotional little bitches while making a shitstorm of a whine....

I mean, yeah. I would vote democrat if the other option is republican. Because things like abortion rights, the constant voter suppression attempts, and supreme court (people who were chosen by republican representatives and proceeded to lie to the country) Would kindof be where I would draw the line.

Yeah, if that's not where you draw the line, then we don't really have something compromisable. Because a significant portion of that is violated human rights, and the other parts would make it harder to actually fix those issues in the long-term.

Sure, there doesn't have to be a good and evil. The party is currently doing evil things, and if you are sticking to your guns with that party, then what exactly are we supposed to say? I wouldn't even say Democrat is being a good party, it's just not doing things I would consider reprehensible.

And that's purely going off the domestic policy. Not even going off the fact that there's some very clear proof that the republican party has Russian government infestation corrupting it.

If you don't think nows the time to make a clear sign the party needs to reform, then I think there's a problem there.

TL;DR: We draw our lines, and unfortunately the line to draw for the republican party has crossed some pretty problematic points over the past 10 years.
