First off, welcome! You’ll love the steam deck. I don’t have any specific hidden gems but if you’re planning on using this a lot on public transit, look for smaller games to play like Dredge. Anything too intensive will drain your battery a ton faster than a smaller game. Plus it will heat up and fans will be going bbrrrrrrr. May be worth getting a portable power bank if you can’t charge on transit. Also the largest SD card you can get to add to that puppy. Enjoy!
Just throw the notices out. My father has been doing this for nearly 30 years in Florida. I’ve been doing the same in California for decades. Sure, they’ll be threatening letters and such, throw those out too.
I used to work in game development as a Designer, Programmer and even QA. Definitely missed the industry at times but seeing the state it’s in now, I’m glad I left. I’m fortunate to have experienced it around the time of PS3’s launch, it all went downhill after that it seems.
My reasons were as you said, toxicity and Reddit’s decision to screw over developers and its users. Never tried to bring someone over. The user base is smaller but it’s almost like going from a loud room of shouting assholes to a small gathering of people that tire of the noise. Haven’t looked back once.
Thank you for this
