  • My wife recently told me we have too much cast iron...like that is even possible. Lol.

I have a couple older Griswolds with a slight warp though. Going to give them to a friend of mine that loves to cook and has a gas stove. The rocking on our electric stove isn't worth it.

  • I went to go check out Sinope's site, and it was already in my browser history. I wonder what past me was looking up...lol

Besides that, the smart valves are so much cheape than Moen! I might have to actually get one now. The ever looming threat of potential water damage stresses me out way too much.

  • I definitely agree! I tried it recently, and was surprised how polished it is. If/when they add some nice to have features, I would have no problem switching from Signal as long as I can get other people to switch too. Which is always the hard part.

  • About a month on this account. 0 posts, 65 comments

I'm about as active here as I was on reddit. What surprised me more though was how effortlessly Lemmy has mostly replaced Reddit for me. I check reddit once or twice a day, just to scan for anything I missed, but I honestly haven't missed much.

Most of the subs I regularly checked were tech related, and those all moved over here fairly quickly. So it was pretty seamless.

  • Welcome back! I dabbled here and there with linux, but never got fully on board until a year or two ago.

Started by dual booting Manjaro, but had some issues with it. Moved to Arch (btw), and now my kids have the dual boot system and my daily driver is a pre-owned Thinkpad with no windows partition.

  • Photos are one of the few things I don't entirely self-host yet. I host Immich, but I also proxy through an original Pixel, so I have unlimited Google Photos storage. It's hard to give that up. I assume Google will make the decision for me eventually though.

I've been meaning to figure out the best/most affordable off-site backup, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
