  • I feel you, but the reality is probably more like "Project Manager said I need to save 13 more cents on materials or he'll murder my children, so if I move the oil filter from this nice easy to access location and remove the lip that catches any drippage it'll get us there."

90% of the time it's the bosses.

  • It's way more fun to pretend hexbear and .ml are super dark and scary than to admit what they mostly actually are: leftist memes and shit posting.

Notice Beehaw's not on the "good" list anymore? Wonder why they're not on there...

  • Lemmy instances are all independent and all have their own rules for posting and commenting. You will find that some communities allow things you find offensive, you will find that some communities ban things you find benign, this is decentralization in action.

If you consider yourself to be a leftist, you will find friends on the "tankie instances" (I can't speak to lemmygrad, I've never interacted with them).

There are also instances that have defederated with .world, because they find it to be offensive.

Blahaj is one of the instances I generally find to be enjoyable personally.

Edit: Just wanted to add, I've had comments modded on hexbear and on .world, remember the rules of the instance you're visiting.

  • If you believe the Supreme Court is going to do anything positive, I have an incredible opportunity for you.

I have been tasked with selling a large amount of scrap iron. It is currently located in France, and you'll need to arrange for the removal, but I'm authorized to offer it for pennies on the dollar!

  • I understand that stance for sure. My border proximity is less for running because of rights restrictions and more based on the necessity for humanitarian aid if things get too spicy. I arrived at a similar conclusion about where Canada, and the rest of the Western world to be frank, is going. We just tend to lead the pack on things like modernizing fascism here in the US.

Leaving Missouri for Minnesota has done loads for the mental health of myself and my family. I cannot recommend this place enough especially if you've mostly only experienced states run by people who think that governments can't actually do things.

  • You're right. Perhaps I need to touch grass. My "is this commenter worth actually expending energy" meter may be off.

And to be clear, there was no jab at marxists. There was a jab at the lack of working class solidarity and wealth cult that exists within my everyday context in the US. Which you aren't necessarily aware of and I wasn't explicit about.

Marxist and Anarchist end goals really aren't so different that it makes sense to foster any leftist infighting. We all ultimately want things to be better for everyone, especially the working class.

  • You can start by height. If that doesn't work you can try favorite ice cream flavor.

And no, boot leather isn't actually an ice cream flavor. There seems to have been some confusion about that amongst us workers lately.
